The carveddoor is opened from the other side.

Ruby's voice can be heard through the door, 'Release the One Power and enter.'

A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.
Ruby Murcatto is sitting here on a stout oaken chair.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
A Red Sister stares down here nose here.
Galina Casban completely ignores you.

Lexiane curtseys before Ruby.

Ruby gestures and the door slams shut from an unseen force.

Ruby says 'Why hello there.'

Lexiane rushes in and out of breath says, 'Hello, Aes Sedai!'

Lexiane gets a fine quill pen from a belt pack.

Lexiane gets a sheet of paper from a belt pack.

Lexiane grabs a fine quill pen.

Lexiane says 'Do you have a few minutes to discuss a matter with me, Aes Sedai?'

Lexiane says 'My name is Lexiane, Aes Sedai. I am an Accepted, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane gestures at her dress.

Ruby says 'I do, I do. Please, take a seat and catch your breath.'

Lexiane says 'But you knew that, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane blushes a light shade of red.

Lexiane says 'Sorry for rambling, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane sit down on a stout oaken chair.

Lexiane plops down onto the seat.

Lexiane says 'I was just excited to see you, Aes Sedai.'

Ruby says 'It's a pleasure to meet you, Lexiane. I haven't had the chance previously.'

Lexiane runs a hand nervously over her shaved head.

Lexiane says 'I have heard wonderful things about you, Aes Sedai.'

Ruby says 'Oh my, well that's a certainly a choice.'

Lexiane blushes even more deeply.

Ruby raises her eyebrows and smiles.

Ruby says 'Oh, please do.'

Lexiane says 'It is efficient, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane gestures to her head.

Lexiane says 'At first it happened because of an accident, but now I think I like it.'

Lexiane says 'Much less work, Aes Sedai.'

Ruby says 'Much less prone to lice as well, I imagine.'

Lexiane wriggles a bit in her seat.

Lexiane says 'Exactly! You understand, Aes Sedai.'

Ruby says 'The Novices try to keep their bedding clean, but you know.'

Lexiane says 'Hygienic, efficient, and frees up more time for my lessons.'

Lexiane says 'I am glad you are able to see the appeal, Aes Sedai. '

Lexiane runs a hand over her bald head.

Ruby says 'What was the accident that caused your change in hairstyle?'

Lexiane whispers to herself, 'Also it feels fun.'

Lexiane frowns at the memory.

Lexiane says 'When I was a novice another novice burned my hair, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane says 'We had to cut half of it off and it was very uneven.'

Ruby says 'I enjoyed running my hands on freshly shorn sheep. It was oddly soothing.'

Ruby says 'Oh, was she learning to weave or was it something more nefarious?'

Lexiane says 'Well, I believe she was learning to weave Aes Sedai. But also she might just like Fire too much, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane says 'She also burnt Elmitsu's dresses, Aes Sedai.'

Ruby nods solemnly.

Lexiane looks around warily.

Lexiane says 'It's just important to keep your wits about you when she is working on her lessons, Aes Sedai.'

Ruby says 'Well, I hope she's being guided a bit more carefully now.'

Lexiane wrinkles her nose.

Lexiane says 'Novices run wild, Aes Sedai!'

Ruby chuckles softly.

Lexiane smooths her skirt, hands lingering at her banded hem.

Ruby says 'You mentioned you had something to discuss with me?'

Lexiane scratches her nose with the end of the quill.

Lexiane says 'Ah, yes! Thank you, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane sits up in her seat and readies her quill.

Lexiane says 'I was given a task by Raeza Sedai to interview Aes Sedai from each Ajah.'

Lexiane says 'These interviews are focused on better understanding the Ajahs, as well as a potential role I might play in them.'

Ruby smiles softly.

Lexiane takes on a professional drone and says, 'Do you consent to be interviewed and for your responses to be recorded in my notes, Aes Sedai?'

Ruby says 'I had a similar task when I was an Accepted.'

Ruby straightens her shawl.

Ruby says 'I consent to be interviewed and to have my responses recorded in your notes, Accepted Lexiane.'

Lexiane furiously scribbles on the paper before her.

Lexiane says 'Thank you, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane says 'Now, the purpose of this interview is to better understand what the Red Ajah looks for in Accepted and what qualities the Red Ajah seeks to foster in Accepted that apprentice to them.'

Ruby nods solemnly.

Ruby says 'I would say the first thing we look for in an Accepted is their desire to join our Ajah.'

Ruby smirks.

Lexiane continues in her overly formal tone, 'First question, Aes Sedai. What qualities do you seek to foster in Accepted?'

Ruby taps her chin.

Ruby says 'Diligence, eagerness, and dedication would be among the qualities I would try to foster in an Accepted.'

Lexiane writes furiously.

Lexiane says 'Diligence in what, eagerness for what, and dedication to what, Aes Sedai?'

Lexiane looks up at Ruby, her doe eyes greedy for the information.

Ruby says 'Diligence in their studies. They must put forth a constant and methodical effort to learn all the Tower has to offer.'

Ruby considers her words for a moment.

Lexiane writes furiously.

Ruby says 'An eagerness to improve. To sharpen their wits and their skills, not only in the Power but in those that will help them in the pursuit of the goals of the Red Ajah.'

Lexiane looks up suddenly.

Lexiane says 'And what are those wits and skills that help an Accepted pursue the goals of the Red Ajah?'

Ruby raises a finger to pause.

Ruby says 'And finally, a dedication to our cause: To prevent the misuse of the Power and to prevent another Breaking of the World.'

Lexiane shuts her mouth with an audible click.

Ruby repositions herself in her chair.

Lexiane writes furiously.

Ruby says 'There are many tasks the Red Ajah sets to their apprentices to sharpen their abilities.'

Lexiane scratches at her scalp with the quill, forgetting herself as she listens closely.

Ruby says 'For instance, one skill that is often not focused on by sisters in the other ajahs is woodcraft. Tracking in specific.'

Lexiane says 'Ah, like following the tracks of creatures as hunters do?'

Ruby nods in agreement.

Ruby says 'Except we use it when we're hunting those who abuse the Power, be it male channelers, dreadlords, or those poor damane.'

Lexiane says 'Interesting. I did not think Red Ajah Aes Sedai spent much time hunting for sport, but of course I understand we all must enjoy ourselves.'

Lexiane says 'Oh!'

Lexiane writes furiously again.

Ruby says 'Hunting for sport is a nice side effect, I'd say.'

Lexiane says 'Interesting, interesting.'

Ruby says 'Have you ever gone hunting?'

Lexiane says 'Yes, Aes Sedai. My da often took me hunting, Aes Sedai. Both for things like deer but also animals who preyed on our sheep, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane says 'I was not much use, Aes Sedai, but it was nice to sit in the woods.'

Ruby smiles softly.

Ruby says 'That does sound quite nice.'

Lexiane says 'Yes, Aes Sedai. I quite liked it.'

Lexiane scratches her head with the quill again, deep in thought.

Lexiane says 'Well, those are quite interesting answers, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane says 'The focus of the Red Ajah, to stop misuse of the One Power, is clearly a very rational approach.'

Ruby says 'What do you mean by "interesting" exactly?'

Lexiane looks at Ruby with a confused expression.

Lexiane says 'They captured my attention?'

Ruby says 'In my lessons, I was often told people will say "interesting" when they have no better answer prepared.'

Lexiane says 'Oh. Well that's a silly thing to say, if you have no better answer it's better not to answer, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane giggles at the thought.

Lexiane says 'Spouting off 'interesting' to evade an answer!'

Lexiane shakes her head at the imagined people.

Ruby chuckles politely.

Lexiane says 'No, Aes Sedai, I found your answers interesting in that they made me think differently about the Red Ajah.'

Ruby nods in agreement.

Lexiane says 'Now, I just have one last question for you, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane sits frozen, large brown eyes focused on Ruby and hand hovering over the sheet of paper before her.

Ruby says 'Please, go on.'

Lexiane says 'Why do you think I would be a bad fit for the Red Ajah, Aes Sedai?'

Ruby leans back in her chair and crosses her legs.

Lexiane leans forward eagerly.

Ruby says 'Now that is an interesting question, Accepted.'

Ruby winks suggestively at Lexiane.

Lexiane giggles.

Ruby says 'This being our first meeting, I can't say you have shown any qualities that would make you a bad fit for the Red Ajah.'

Lexiane says 'Ah, well, if I may answer for you, Aes Sedai?'

Ruby says 'I can't promise I will agree, but I would like to hear your answer.'

Lexiane says 'As it relates to the very first thing you said at the start of this conversation, I just have no desire to join your Ajah.'

Lexiane smiles happily, quite pleased with herself for having figured out the answer.

Ruby smiles softly.

Ruby says 'That is an excellent reason. Well done!'

Lexiane says 'Well, thank you for your time, Aes Sedai.'

Lexiane says 'I found it informative, I learned something, and I also fulfilled the requirements for my task.'

Lexiane says 'Is there anything you need from me, Aes Sedai? Otherwise I will leave you to your work.'

Ruby says 'It was a pleasure, child. I'm glad you found it informative.'

Lexiane puts away her quill and paper.

Lexiane stands up.

Lexiane curtseys before Ruby.

Ruby clambers to her feet.

Ruby gestures with her hand.

Lexiane says 'Thank you for your time, Aes Sedai.'

The door smoothly swings open.

RPQPs for Lexiane and Ruby. See any silver-haired Aes Sedai to 'receive' them.
