The carveddoor is opened from the other side.

Study of the Brown Ajah
Tall, arched windows in the northern wall open to a balcony, providing a
choice view of the Erinin as it flows south from the Borderlands. Half the
seating in the room is drawn up around the windows, showing that the
occupants appreciate the panorama. The remaining seats are drawn up in
circles of six to eight, allowing Brown Sisters to discuss the furtherance
of knowledge, or new theories in an informal atmosphere. Colorful wall
hangings depicting still lifes decorate the pale white walls.

Zone: White Tower Upper Floors
Door south: door
A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.
Catisune Sedai is standing here.
A large man eyes the surroundings warily, every movement fluid.
A striking woman stands here, seemingly ageless.
A Brown Sister is here, frowning pensively.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
A Brown Sister is here, frowning pensively.
Danelle Sedai, sitter for the Brown Ajah stands here deep in thought.

Penzei curtseys to her audience.

Catisune gestures at the door with her hand.

The door silently swings shut and lock with a soft *click*.

Penzei says 'Greetings Catisune Sedai, it has been some time!'

Penzei smiles warmly.

Catisune looks up from her seat near the Ajah study windows. She is nearly bent over the embroidery
hoop in her lap.

Catisune says 'Welcome, Accepted.'

Catisune smiles, the briefest twitch of her lips.

Penzei says 'How have you filled your time since the last we spoke ? I'm sure you've been up to
something important'

Catisune studies the Accepted before her as one might a specimen on a tray.

Catisune says 'My research interests are many and varied, dear, but I suspect that is not why you
came calling.'

Catisune says 'What brings an Apprentice of the Yellow Ajah up my staircase today?'

Catisune gestures toward the empty chair across from her.

Penzei lightly strolls to the chair and takes a seat.

Penzei fans out her dress removing the wrinkles before placing her hands on her thighs.

Catisune stows her embroidery hoop in the tawny bag of sewing trinkets resting at her feet so that
she may levy the considerable force of her attention upon the Accepted.

Penzei says 'I guess I'm really just looking for someone to talk too'

Catisune says 'Then you have come to the right place.'

Penzei says 'And you are one of the most wise members of the Tower'

Catisune infuses her tone with a measure of warmth despite her implacable features.

Catisune says 'If you are trying to flatter me, dear, keep going.'

Catisune winks one of her large, watery eyes.

Penzei grins slightly at the mention.

Catisune says 'What shall we talk about then? I hope not poetry, for you may find yourself too full
of it to attend my class later.'

Penzei subdues a giggle before clearing her throat.

Catisune taps her beak nose knowingly.

Penzei says 'Oh I wouldn't miss your poetry sessions for the world, however, I suppose what I'm really
ing for is a second opinion'

Penzei looks away momentarily before continuing.

Catisune says 'I should have been consulted first, of course, but I am happy to offer you a second
opinion, dear.'

Penzei says 'I'm not sure if you've heard but I've recently failed a vote to be elevated. I've gotten
lots of advice from various Aes Sedai. I was wondering what you would say about the matter.'

Penzei smiles faintly.

Catisune says 'Oh, failure, how exciting!'

Catisune rubs her hands together to illustrate her point.

Penzei subdues another giggle.

Catisune says 'Failure is a part and parcel of life. I myself make it a point to fail several times
before breakfast.'

Catisune says 'But I will not bore you with my own attempts at verse.'

Catisune says 'Why do you think that you failed, Penzei?'

Penzei taps her chin momentarily in thought.

Penzei says 'I'd say the most glaring thing is just my prosperity for being direct and not particularly
caring about how people perceive me which has caused my public appearance to be less than desirable
despite great successes.'

Catisune nods, the censorious bun atop her head swaying.

Catisune says 'It is good to be self aware.'

Catisune says 'How will you improve your chances?'

Penzei takes a deep breath, letting the oxygen help her think.

Penzei says 'In my heart, I know I'm doing well and I know that being a part of the Tower is everything
to me, so I aim to do my best to be the Aes Sedai I am meant to be.'

Penzei says 'If that means altering how I act in public then so be it.'

Catisune says 'Hmm.'

Catisune says 'When I was an Accepted, I felt like Sisters made me jump through many different
hoops.'

Catisune says 'One hoop saw me facing Trollocs in the Blight. Another saw me offering Healing to
heroes returned from that same place--even though I never had much Talent for it.'

Catisune says 'It seems to me you must determine exactly which hoop you're missing.'

Catisune says 'And aim better, Penzei.'

Penzei nods stoically, absorbing the words.

Catisune says 'Have I ever told you the story of Imefelda Sedai?'

Penzei says 'I have not!'

Penzei leans forward genuinely interested.

Catisune says 'Imefelda came to the White Tower centuries ago.'

Catisune says 'She could not read, she could not write. She was not strong in the One Power, and she
had no social graces.'

Catisune says 'Though records of that time are apocryphal at best, some say Imefelda spent more time
as a Novice and Accepted than any Initiate in the history of our hallowed institution.'

Catisune says 'She could not face her fears at first. She certainly didn't pass her first vote.'

Penzei continues listening intently, almost at the edge of her seat.

Catisune says 'She did have a Talent for Healing though.'

Catisune sits back a little in the plush chair she commands as a throne.

Penzei smiles faintly.

Catisune says 'Not nearly so strong in the Power as you, Penzei, but Imefelda wanted to help
ver she could for as long as she could.'

Catisune says 'She eventually claimed a Yellow Shawl, earning the respect of many naysayers in the
process. She ended her storied career as an advisor to the Queen of Saldaea.'

Catisune wields her bony finger like a knife before her.

Penzei looks around momentarily as if the room could explode.

Catisune says 'To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield--that is what you must do, Penzei.'

Penzei grins slightly at the mention.

Catisune says 'But I do prattle on.'

Penzei says 'Now I understand why you choose this story.'

Catisune says 'Which of my Sisters of the Brown have you met with in anticipation of your vote?'

Penzei smiles faintly, settling back into her chair.

Penzei says 'I have met with Tolza Sedai on a few occasions, I have caught Liia Sedai in passing'

Catisune says 'I suggest reaching out to Gesin Sedai and Lexica Sedai for meetings.'

Penzei says 'That sounds like a great idea, Catisune Sedai'

Catisune says 'You may try to rouse Damena, but she is a terrible grouch.'

Penzei looks around before speaking.

Penzei says 'Whatever I can do, I'll do it'

Catisune says 'Just remember the Sister before you and the hoop that she's holding, dear. They are
all different shapes, but I suspect you can fit through all of them.'

Catisune smiles once more, and the gesture even touches her large, watery eyes.

Penzei produces a leather binder from seemingly nowhere in her dress with a quill and begins jotting
the sentence down while whispering the words," suspect you can fit through all of them... "

Catisune says 'And light a candle for Imefelda tonight, dear. The wheel weaves as it will, but
sometimes we must give it a little push.'

Penzei says," I'm stealing that one " before clapping the binder together and stowing it in back
into her dress?

Penzei says 'I will!'

Catisune says 'Do you have other questions for a Sister of the Brown?'

Penzei says 'No I will spare you anymore of my drawl, Catisune Sedai, I look forward to your poetry
class, an enjoyable break from my research and work.'

Catisune says 'Off with you then. I must pretend to prepare for my seminar.'

Penzei is already standing.

Catisune does not smile, but one might spy a twinkle in her large, watery eyes.

Penzei stands up, brushing her dress off lightly.

Penzei senses Catisune connecting to the True Source.

Penzei curtseys to her audience.

Catisune gestures with her hand.

The door smoothly swings open.

Penzei says 'Thank you for your time Catisune Sedai!'
