Title: A Yellow Ajah Apprentice shares lessons on The Last Battle, the Yellow Ajah, Delving and Healing

Point of view: Adelle
Participants: Adelle, Kura

You say 'Here we are, Novice.'

Kura nods in agreement.

The Warders' Practice Yard
A large expanse of bare ground at least fifty paces across and nearly twice
as long stretches forth, its earth beaten hard. At intervals around it
under the trees stand wooden stands holding quarterstaffs and practice
swords made of strips of wood bound loosely together, and a few real swords
and axes and spears. A large gray stone building lies to the east, home to
the warder students and those warders who are not sharing quarters with
their Aes Sedai in the main Tower structure itself.

A sign hangs on the wall.
[ obvious exits: N E S W ]
Zone: White Tower Ground Floor
Door east: officedoor
An iron lantern hangs from the wall above the gate.
A weapon rack stands on the ground here, ready to store weapons.
Some elaborate figurines spew fresh water into a broad basin here.
Kura the Wearied Novice is standing here.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
A grim storyteller reads from a journal.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
A warder's student stands here catching his breath.
Coulin the Master of Arms is here teaching his students.
A gray haired weaponsmaster stands nearby.

Adelle examines the grounds around them, pointing to a spot and beckons Kura to have a seat across
from her.

Adelle sits on the ground, adjusting to a comfortable position.
Kura takes a seat across from you.

Adelle smiles gently and asks, "Can you please repeat your question for me, Novice?"

Kura says 'Yes Accepted.'

Kura says 'What is the role of the Yellow Ajah at the Last Battle?'

Adelle claps her hands together excitedly and exclaims, "Ah! This is one of my favorite topic of
discussions. In what way do the Ajahs serve towards the Last Battle?"

You say 'In order words, in what ways does each Ajah serve in the fight against the Shadow?'

Kura says 'Yes, Accepted.'

You say 'I have received teaching on this which I can pass on to you.'

You say 'I suspect you ask me specifically of the Yellows as an Apprentice of that Ajah.'

Kura says 'I was going to ask about other Ajah as well.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'I see the Yellow Ajah as having many functions towards the Shadow and Last Battle.'

You say 'In no particular order...'

You say 'The Yellow Ajah has a mission of Healing, which involves compassion and empathy towards
others.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'I am always so inspired by the sisters of the Yellow Ajah in their service, I think this
expression of good will is infectious to others.'

Kura says 'I was wondering why the at the Yellow Ajah quarters I was taught about ogiers. But I
think I understand now. The compassion and empathy.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'It also bathes the White Tower in a positive light - that we have Sisters so dedicated to
helping others. This is helpful for unity and alliances.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'The Yellow Ajah has expertise in herblore.'

You say 'With this, the Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah research new cures, vials and potions for
ailments. The more we learn of these things, the more we can adapt to our enemies' weapons. This will
better prepare us for the future.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'Similarly, the Yellow Ajah studies new methods of Healing to both improve the delivery of
Healing now, but also in the future.'

You say 'Of course, the Yellow Ajah directly provides Healing. I suspect that the Aes Sedai of the
Yellow Ajah will be present at the Last Battle in a multitude of ways.'

You say 'The Aes Sedai will Heal the fallen from the safety of cities.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'There are also numerous Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah who prefer to set up healing stations
near a battlefield, such that soldiers can retreat to such stations for Healing and quickly return
to fight.'

You say 'The are Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah who, like the Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah, on the day of the Last Battle, will be directly in battle, weaving attacks of the One Power in one hand, and offering Healing and support with the other.’
You say 'That has been some of what I have learned on this matter.'

You say 'What are your thoughts, Novice? '

Kura says 'I believe the empathy shown by the Yellow Ajah specifically will greatly gather to us
many soldiers and even nations.'

You nod at her.

Kura says 'and I did not know... or I almost forgot that I was taught... Green Ajah will also heal
on demand on the battlefield.'

Kura says 'I did not know that Healing would be improved upon'

Kura says 'that is the delivery of it'

Kura says 'for future uses'

Kura says 'and of course, the herblore to assist with recovery.'

Adelle nods at her.

You say 'The Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah, I am told, have a variety of interests in Healing.'

You say 'Some for example the physical, Jenda Sedai is interested in more invasive Healing, such as
the practice of surgery whereas Eldrenia Sedai is interested in Healing of the non-physical -
illnesses of the mind.'

Kura says 'ah'

Kura says 'can you explain more of the healing of the mind?'

You say 'Over time it seems that how Healing has changed, for a while it was typical for the Yellow
Ajah to be behind the Gates of a City, and expect soldiers to return to the City for Healing, the
concept of a medical station closer to Battle is newer.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'Ah! I wish I could, I recently encountered a main with a case of melancholia, or
depression, as Etain Sedai said.'

You say 'But alas, I did not yet have the training to Heal him. This is an area of Healing I seek to
learn more of.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'I can share what Etain Sedai told me.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'She shared that we can assess for a physical injury, such as head trauma, which may be the
direct cause of the depression.'

You say 'In this case Healing with the One Power is readily possible.'

You say 'If no such physical injury is detected, it seems that the One Power may not be so useful,
although there are still things that can be done to address this.'

You say 'For example, assisting such a patient with the development of a routine, involving family
in their day, and so forth.'

Kura says 'Oh I see'

You say 'Have you received Training in any areas of Healing?'

Kura says 'I can do some light healing'

You nod in agreement.

You say 'Perfect.'

You say 'Let us see how you do. '

Kura looks around.

Kura says 'On you, Accepted?'

You say ‘I believe I am an acceptable subject for this purpose.

You sense Kura connecting to the True Source.

You sense Kura is channeling saidar.

Kura leans closer. You feel a healing power flow from her hands.
You feel better!

You say 'Excellent, Novice.'

Kura smiles happily.

You say 'You demonstrated successful control of this weave.'

You say 'Now, I would advise to first delve. Have you ever tried this?'

Kura shakes her head.

You say 'It is often the first thing done prior to Healing someone.'

You say 'Delving in a practical sense, is allowing us to search around for injury or the extent of
injury.'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'For example, if we were to come across an ill, pale, unconscious villager in a field, we
may not have any information as to the why of it.'

You say 'Delving will determine it.

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'If we come across a soldier with an arrow in the chest, delving will allow us to know what
organs have been penetrated by the arrow.'

Kura curtseys gracefully.

Adelle smiles blissfully as she embraces and surrenders to saidar.

Adelle weaves flows of spirit and water, demonstrating the pattern of delving.

Kura says 'Oh I see it!'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'There we are. '

You say 'Do you think you can give it a try, Novice?'

Kura attempts a flow of spirt and water, delving at her own hand.

Adelle smiles encouragingly.

You say 'You catch on quickly, Novice. Excellent work.'

Kura says 'Thank you Accepted.'

You say 'Once the delving is done, a more accurate and efficient Healing can occur.'

Kura says 'oh'

Kura nods in agreement.

You tell Kura 'In practical words: I "appraise" everyone '

You say 'Delving allows us to also prioritize the sickest, save-able patient when there are multiple
patients needing Healing.'

Kura says 'ahh'

Kura says 'our power is limited'

Kura nods in agreement.

You say 'We all need rest at times, and we must priotize who can be saved, and who needs saving now
versus later.'

Kura nods in agreement.

Adelle glances at the sky and frowns, muttering to herself.

You say 'Novice, I just realized I forgot to attend to something.'

Kura says 'oh of course'

You say 'Is there anything else I might assist you with today?'

Kura says 'No you've been most helpful.'

Kura says 'Thank you'

You say 'Excellent work, I will relay your work to the Aes Sedai.'

Very good. As no Aes Sedai has mention awards: I've awarded 3 qps to Adelle and 2 to Kura, go to a silver haired Aes Sedai and say "receive".
