Private lesson with Chloro

Post by Aloisa » Mon Nov 29, 2021 12:51 pm

Accepted Chloro had contacted Aloisa Sedai asking for a private lesson. The below conversation followed.

Participants: Accepted Chloro and Aloisa Sedai
Location: Den of the Red Ajah

Den of the Red Ajah
This room reflects the cool nature of the Red Ajah, the furnishings just as
severe as the rest of the room. A gilded chair rests near the center of the
room, accompanied by an equally elaborate dark wooden desk. Chairs have
been drawn up to the tall, arched windows, which look over the western side
of Tar Valon, the western bank of the Erinin and Dragonmount beyond,
serving as a constant reminder of the purpose of the Red Ajah.
[ obvious exits: E ]
Zone: White Tower Upper Floors
Door east: door
A chair made of red oak rests next to the table. [2]
A large desk made of fine, thick wood stands across the room from here.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
A Red Sister stares down here nose here.
Galina Casban completely ignores you.

Aloisa says 'Galina summon Chloro'

Galina Casban says 'I will send my scribe to summon her, Aloisa.'

Someone knocks on the door from the other side.

Aloisa gesture with her hand.

A series of locks turn, and the door smoothly swings open.

Aloisa glances at the door and calls, 'Release the One Power and enter.'

Chloro has arrived from the east.

Chloro deeply curtsey's to the Aes Sedai near.

Aloisa channels Air towards the door.

Aloisa gestures and the door creaks and closes slowly.

Aloisa looks up from the papers before her.

Chloro says 'Good afternoon Aloisa Sedai.'

Aloisa says 'Hello Accepted, thank you for your promptness.'

Aloisa says 'And to you, child.'

Aloisa folds the leather folio before her and turns her full attention to Chloro.

Aloisa says 'I received a note from you about private lessons?'

Aloisa says 'What is it you wished to discuss, child.'

Aloisa gestures to the empty seat opposite her.

Chloro grins eagerly. "Yes Aes Sedai, I am attempting to further my studies with all of the Ajahs. I have had a lesson on battle against channelers with Marlia Sedai and Accepted Talasia earlier. I was wondering how to handle wilders without resorting to battle."

Aloisa says 'Ahh, yes, wilders.'

Chloro smooths her skirts and moves to sit opposite the Aes Sedai.

Aloisa says 'The White Tower will take in and train any woman with the spark or able to learn to channel, as you know.'

Aloisa says 'We actively seek out such women and offer them a place among us.'

Aloisa says 'Some do not join us. Some are too old for it, others advanced enough to no longer be a danger, still others unlikely to ever weave the One Power.'

Aloisa says 'Still others find places within their communities as healers and leaders.'

Aloisa says 'Wisdoms or hedgewitches, depending on who you ask.'

Aloisa smiles wryly.

Chloro says 'How do we convince woman to come for training. In the north it is an honor to come
here, but in the south it seems as if they must be pulled tooth and nail.'

Aloisa shrugs.

Aloisa says 'Who we are is often convincing enough.'

Aloisa says 'Women wish to become Aes Sedai.'

Aloisa says 'They seek to serve and help guide the world.'

Aloisa says 'Still others need to be told that without us they will likely die.'

Aloisa shrugs.

Aloisa says 'The One Power, untrained, is dangerous.'

Chloro nods processing the information "May I ask, how does one attempt to persuade a woman who can knowingly channel to her self without resorting to using a shield?"

Aloisa shrugs.

Aloisa says 'Use your words.'

Aloisa says 'We are not in the business of kidnapping. '

Aloisa says 'If she is no risk to herself or others and does not wish to wear novice white, then we wish her the best.'

Chloro nods contemplatively, "May I ask another question Aes Sedai? It is rather off topic, however one that I think merits asking."

Aloisa nods, curls swaying.

Chloro thinks over her words very carefully shivering slightly before speaking. "How does one ward off dreams of what happened when being tested for Accepted?"

Aloisa leans back in her seat, her face a mask of calm and her ice-blue eyes weighing and measuring.

Aloisa says 'It is important to remember some of the lessons you learned, child.'

Aloisa says 'I will not ask you to share with me your experiences in the ter'angreal, child, but do the dreams bother you?'

Chloro looks up regaining her calm smoothing hers skirts. "The dreams no, however the regret at what was shown and is no longer possible in this life lingers. Perhaps it is a lesson in it's self."

Aloisa nods at Chloro.

Aloisa says 'That it is, child.'

Aloisa says 'The path of an Aes Sedai is not an easy one.'

Aloisa appears to be weighing and measuring you once more, her eyes cold as ever.

Aloisa says 'You understand the sacrifice required?'

Chloro nods her eyes showing she has seen a bit too much. "Coming from the north I understand it all too well. Nevirha Sedai debated it with me prior to putting me up for testing. It still does not lesson the knowing of what could have been."

Aloisa offers a slight smile.

Aloisa says 'Yes, child. Knowing so clearly is not easy.'

Aloisa says 'How are you finding your time as an Accepted?'

Chloro says 'I have a new understanding for my fellow Accepted, though I do find myself dropping into a curtsy or using formal titles at times when I do not have to. It is a process adjusting.'

Aloisa grins, a predatory gleam in her eyes.

Aloisa says 'Yes, it does take time.'

Chloro says 'Having been through this process Aes Sedai, Is there anything I should focus on in my
new duties?'

Aloisa says 'But soon you will be the one teaching classes and scolding novices for not curtsying quick
enough.'

Aloisa taps her lip in thought.

Aloisa says 'Well, I think this is a wonderful time for exploration. If you do not yet know your path, taking the time to explore all of the options available is excellent practice.'

Aloisa says 'I think meeting with Aes Sedai is a good step, as is performing any tasks available.'

Chloro says 'I am not sure anyone knows that path before she is taken before the hall. I know that I am at a loss for how to best serve the tower.'

Aloisa says 'Many know where their passion is.'

Aloisa says 'Identifying an Ajah is what I am referring to, child'

Chloro says 'I understood what you meant Alosia Sedai, yet I have many passions and could see myself fitting into many roles, which is why narrowing them down becomes a difficult task. Perhaps I am too young into Accepted hood to being that process.'

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'That is why it is good to meet with many Aes Sedai'

Aloisa says 'Explore widely'

Aloisa says 'That is my advice, child. Take your time and find what suits you'

Aloisa says 'Enjoy being an Accepted. I found it quite an exciting time.'

Aloisa grins, a predatory gleam in her eyes.

Chloro smiles warmly, "Thank you Alosia Sedai, I will. I believe Sheriam Sedai mentioned Ajah tasks. They may be a good start."

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'Yes, Pevara will be able to assist you I believe. There is a roster outside of Sheriam's office.'

Aloisa says 'Do you have any other questions?'

Chloro chuckles warmly. "Far more than one should, however for now thought I think reflecting on this conversation may help me adjust into my new role."

Aloisa nods in agreement.

Aloisa says 'Best of luck, child. Enjoy it.'

Aloisa gestures with her hand.

The door smoothly swings open.

Aloisa says 'You are dismissed.'

Chloro rises from her seat smoothing her skirts. "Thank you Alosia Sedai."

Chloro deeply curtsey's to the Aes Sedai near.

Chloro leaves east.

The door closes quietly.
