A lesson about being White Ajah

Post by Alison » Wed Sep 15, 2021 7:13 am

Chloro says 'Pleasent Day Alison Sedai.'

Alison says 'That remains to be seen. Things change fast.'

Chloro nods in clear acceptance.

Alison says 'You wanted to learn something?'

Chloro says 'Yes if you have time, I would like to learn more about the White Ajah.'

Alison says 'What do you currently know about the White Ajah?'

Chloro says 'From speaking to Accepted the White Ajah pursues logic, yet few are able to elaborate as to how, or why.'

Eldrenia has arrived from the north, riding a |1|.draft horse.

Eldrenia leaves west riding a draft horse.

Eldrenia has arrived from the west, riding a |2|.gray palfrey.

Alison says 'How is easy'

Chloro curtseys gracefully.

Alison says 'I ask questions.'

Tower Square
This side of the square is the southern section of the Tower Square.
In the center is the walled off White Tower. To the south a large
boulevard opens up leading to the Southharbor. To the north you see
the southern gate of the Tower grounds. The square continues east
and west.

A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.

The Tar Valon town crier stands here, spreading the news.

greet eldrenia
Alison greets her with a light kiss on her cheek.

Eldrenia leaves east riding a gray palfrey.

Alison says 'How is more complicated'

Alison says 'We take the answers received and we sift through it.'

The sun casts a golden glow over the city.

The River Lady has arrived at the docks.

Chloro nods listening with interest.

Alison says 'Analysis without emotion allows pure logic to evaluate equations.'

The day has begun.

Alison says 'Basically. We are the ones who think more and feel less than others.'

A city lamplighter extinguishes a streetlamp.

Alison says 'Very simplified'

Chloro listens and her brows furrow thinking the statement over."If emotion is not factored in how can one clear figure the outcome?"

Alison says 'Look at the fountain.'

Chloro glances at the crystal water of the fountain.

Alison says 'Its round. Attaching formula to it one can calculate the radius of it?'

The fountain splashes merrily, light sparkling beautifully on the surface of the water.

Alison says 'Its depth?'

Alison says 'Its volume'

Alison says 'Where in all of that did i use emotion to calculate anything?'

Chloro nods rubbing her chin."I see your point Aes Sedai, I also raise the point of not being able to judge how a child putting their hand it can change the depth."

Alison says 'There is two ways of looking at how the world operates.'

Chloro listens intently

Audre has arrived from the west.

Alison says 'An emotional person will attach a feeling of beauty, of knowledge on how they feel about fountains as they attempt to calculate it. In you example the child will attach emotion of wonder to it.'

Chloro curtseys gracefully.

The snow stops.

Audre looks at Chloro.

Alison says 'A white ajah sister dismisses the feelings from the pure formula. I don't see the beauty of it or let it influence my thoughts on its structure.'

A Tower Guard has arrived from the west.

Chloro glances back at the clear fountain then back to Alison Sedai, "Then Detachment is what the White Ajah practices?"

Akane has arrived from the west.

Alison says 'Also known as meditation.'
Chloro curtseys gracefully.

greet akane
Alison greets her with a light kiss on her cheek.

Theren has arrived from the east, riding a |1|.bloodstock stallion.
Akane says 'Sister.'

Akane smiles happily.

Theren bows, the bells in his hair chiming.

Alison says 'Also known as the oneness and how we wrap that around us.'

Audre looks at Theren.

Akane says 'The lad with the bells!'

Audre scratches the back of her neck.

Akane says 'I do love bells.'

Theren nods, bells in his hair ringing.

Audre really gets into scratching the back of her neck.

Theren says 'Many bells.'

Akane gives a bloodstained cloak bearing a clenched fist to Audre.

Chloro says 'Thank you Alison Sedai, I have not heard it put like that before. It brings a new perspective.'

Theren puts a mirrored lantern in a small purse.
Theren puts some coins in a small purse.

Audre takes a deep breath of a bloodstained cloak.

Akane says 'To wipe the blood, after you scratch too much.'

Audre sighs happily.

Theren leaves south riding a bloodstock stallion.

Alison says 'Just dont overcomplicate it. Chloro'

Chloro boggles the thought each thing she has learned is more complicated then the next, "I will try not to Aes Sedai."

Alison says 'Others define the world through their perception of emotions. I remove emotions from how i look at the world. Then i attach my mind to the problem and find the solution.'

Audre stops resting, and clambers on her feet.

Audre licks her lips

Chloro says 'Would it be safe to say Think then Act instead of Act then think?'

Audre looks at Akane.

Alison says 'Almost'

It starts to snow.

Alison says 'Just that in the greater picture we think faster than others. So to others we seem to act before we think. In essence i have evaluated 10 to 100 outcomes and decided faster than others.'

Chloro says 'This may be a lesson I will have to come to terms with. I have not had many studies in logic though. I feel I may now need quite a few.'

Alison says 'Logic is just a tool'

Akane says 'I'll be off to bed now. Listen hard, Novice!'

Alison says 'Application of logic to problems or questions is using the tool more and more. Same as any weapon, or one power.'

Akane leaves north.

Audre leaves south.

A rat has arrived from the east.

Theren bows, the bells in his hair chiming.

A rat stops following Theren.
Theren slashes a rat's body into bloody fragments!
A rat is dead! R.I.P.
Alison's blood freezes as you hear a rat's death cry.

Alison says 'How long does it take you now to solve a problem in your life?'

Alison smiles at him.

Audre has arrived from the south.

Theren smiles happily.

Audre looks at Theren.

Theren looks at Audre.

Theren looks at Audre.

Alison says 'From today.'

Arston bows deeply.

Arston leaves east riding a wild stallion.

Alison says 'Spend time in your mind understanding how long it takes to solve it.'

Arston has arrived from the east, riding a |3|.wild stallion.

Arston sits down and rests.
Arston sheathes a copper headed throwing axe into a gator skin bracer.

Alison says 'Then as you take lessons from me. I will teach you to separate emotions from it and solve it faster.'

The sun sets, washing the city in fiery colors.

The River Lady has arrived at the docks.

Audre sheathes a curved clear dagger into a camouflaged hood.

A Tower Guard leaves east.

Audre draws a curved clear dagger from a camouflaged hood with a flash of steel.

Chloro says 'I shall, perhaps its time I revisit the rosebud technique..'

Audre sheathes a curved clear dagger into a camouflaged hood.

Arston cringes away from Audre in mortal terror.

Audre looks at Arston.

Audre says 'Have something to say, Merchant?'

Arston says 'no just vastly intimidated by u and ur dagger'

Audre draws a curved clear dagger from a camouflaged hood with a flash of steel.

Arston says 'so when u flex it sheathing and drawing....'

Arston cringes in terror!

The night has begun.

Chloro says 'I thank you for your time Aes sedai, and a rather illuminating Lesson.'

Alison says 'My ajah will teach you to think. Using the world around you to solve your problems.'

Chloro perks up hearing the world around her, "That must come in handy in Politics."

Alison says 'Too much emotions in politics.'

Alison says 'I hope i have answered some of your questions today.'

Arston grins at the expert use of the word questions

Chloro says 'You have though I think I have more now than I did before. A quandary for the Ages, Alison Sedai.'

Alison smiles happily.

Theren bows, the bells in his hair chiming.

Arston bows.

Theren leaves west riding a bloodstock stallion.

Chloro says 'May I be excused Alison Sedai. I fear I must take my bed as morning kitchen shifts come all to soon.'
