Novice Meadow seeks advancement, and has a spar or words with Chloro Sedai, while Accepted Arelis watches with interest. (I do not normally post these, but it was damn good rp on all parts.)
In the Well
This open-roofed building used to house the initiates of the Tower consists
of nine levels, but only three of them are currently in use. A number of
small, windowless rooms open up to a gallery which surrounds a courtyard,
there is ample fresh air. A fountain with a small garden sits at the bottom
of this well, the sound of falling waters echoing among the towering walls.

Chloro says 'Now, on to you Novice Meadow. What did you wish to speak about?'
Meadow says 'I wished to request a raise in responsibilities.'
Arelis has entered the game.
Chloro raises her eyebrow ever so slightly while weighing and measuring the novice. “Is that so?"
Arelis curtseys before you.
Arelis says 'I thought I was alone in room'
Chloro says 'Stay Accepted.'
Arelis says 'Lo Meadow'
Arelis beams a smile at Meadow.
Meadow says 'Sheriam Sedai, Laras Sedai, as well as the various Aes Sedai within the Library have found fit to award me the merits necessary'
Meadow beams a smile at Arelis.
Meadow says 'Greetings, Accepted'
Arelis says 'Good to see you Novice Meadow. Hope your training is going well.'
Chloro says 'Tell me Novice, what do you know about being wearied? I do hope a great deal as you seek the title.'
Meadow says 'I know that the title fits me more appropriately than Fledgling, Aes Sedai.'
Arelis looks at Meadow.
Chloro looks to the Novice and sighs slightly. "Is that all?"
Meadow says 'Though within the White Tower, I have spent countless hours reading the books before putting them away. I have found new techniques to perform weaves that suit efficiency, compared to what I'd known before.'
Arelis straightens her dress as she looks towards Meadow's way.
Arelis says 'May I ask Meadow a question Chloro Sedai?'
Chloro says 'Novice Meadow, you came to us with some training prior to the tower. However, the moment you put on the white dress of a Novice, everything that happened before was put aside. '
Chloro says 'You may Accepted.'
Arelis says 'Meadow, as a Wearied Accepted, you are to be more familiar with the three oaths that govern us. Knowing these Oaths is a big step towards your goal. Are you familiar with them?'
Meadow says 'I am'
Chloro says 'Recite them please.'
Meadow says 'In fact, I just read a book about them recently.'
Arelis says 'Excellent! This would be something you can share with Chloro Sedai as to why you are ready to become Wearied.'
Arelis says 'Just food for thought.'
Arelis beams a smile at Meadow.
Arelis nods at Meadow.
Meadow says 'The three oaths of an Aes Sedai, sworn upon the rod areas follows: to speak no word that is not true, to make no weapon with which one person may kill another, and never to use the One Power as a weapon except in the last extreme defense of her own life, the life of her Warder, or another Aes Sedai'
Arelis smiles at Meadow as she recites the Three Oaths.
Chloro says 'Accepted, are those correct?'
Arelis says 'Yes Aes Sedai'
Arelis says 'That is correct.'
Arelis winks at Meadow.
Chloro says 'Novice you seek more responsibility, yet few minutes ago failed to listen and respond as requested during the rosebud exercise with a new novice. Channeling will not get you far within the tower. How you act must be as honed as your channeling skill.'
Arelis smiles at Chloro Sedai as her words shows her wisdom.
Chloro says 'I will not grant your request today, however, complete what I ask, and I will review to change that decision. Accepted Arelis is a fast weaver and skilled in battle with the one power. I have even seen her assist in taking down a Dreadlord. I would like you to work with Accepted Arelis and have a private lesson with her on what it means to be wearied. '
Arelis nudges Meadow suggestively with her elbow.
Chloro says 'Either of you may send the lesson to me to review, and it need to be completed tonight, your studies are more important.'
Arelis says 'Sounds like a plan Aes Sedai'
Meadow says 'I would respond, Aes Sedai, with this...'
Arelis straightens her dress as she waits for Meadow to respond.
Meadow says 'I came to the White Tower by my own free will, asking to become better at what I was already skilled at. You inducted me, and you knew that I am older, and experienced compared to most Accepted, yet you treat me like a child. I have seen more battle and combat, in which I used the One Power than most Accepted. '
Meadow says 'You keep saying words matter here in the White Tower'
Arelis arches an eyebrow.
Meadow says 'And in response to your earlier statement: yes, I put my previous life aside, yet experience and knowledge remain'
Arelis looks around and takes a seat next to Kennira.
Meadow says 'I have slain Myrddraal and Dreadlord in defense of my hometown of Remen, yet you treat me like I am barely capable of accessing the True Source.'
Chloro adjusts the gray fringed shawl in the crook of her arms. "Good, then when next given an opportunity to assist a new Novice, I expect you to remember what it was like you first time, and how dangerous it can be."
Meadow says 'Unlike other Novices, I was trained under skilled hands, in a capable and safe environment.'
Meadow says 'It may be dangerous, but I had a quick handle on it and was able to harness the Power in a very effective manner.'
Chloro says 'You had an opportunity to be there for someone embracing for the first time, the ability to try and make it easier than your own first time, and you declined to do that. Wearied Novices often are the first interaction with a new novice, and assist them getting into tower life. If you cannot assist them with the embracing, how can I trust you can assist them with daily life. '
Meadow says 'Because Daily life will never consist of picturing flowers in your mind.'
Meadow says 'Daily life is struggle, and pain. Especially when the Shadow creeps into your waking nightmares.'
Chloro says 'Yours, or theirs? '
Meadow says 'Everyone's'
Arelis nudges at Kennira.
Chloro says 'Child, whatever you were running from before coming here. You have a sisterhood protecting you now. I do not think you have faced those fears yet, which is essential for things that will come on this path.'
Meadow says 'The Shadow is everywhere, Aes Sedai: whether it be darkfriends, or trollocs, or dreadlords, or forsaken, The Light cannot escape the Shadow. And thus, we must always be prepared to be in non-ideal circumstances.'
Arelis nods in approval to what Chloro Sedai just expressed.
Chloro thinks for a moment choosing her words carefully.
Arelis whispers to Kennira- "I dont know what you are doing with these Novices Kennira, but this one got spunk."
Meadow says 'I have faced my fears, Aes Sedai. I have lost loved ones, and friends. I came here to be more prepared to defend them in the future, because that time will come, when no matter what we do, we shall all be consumed by the fight.'
Chloro says 'There is being pre-paired, and then there is letting the shadow rule your fears. The wheel will weave as it wills, what do you plan to do in your life to make it easier to weave for the light?'
Arelis looks at Meadow waiting for her reply.
Meadow says 'I will master the craft of battle using Saidar, and crush those who stand in opposition of the Light.'
Chloro says 'Then, to experience battle weaves in true battle, you would need to become Accepted. How do you plan to achieve that?'
Meadow says 'The first step was asking you to sanction the promotion today.'
Chloro says 'I have declined your promotion and asked you to complete tasks. Will you rise to the challenge? You claim to always be prepared, time to put that theory to practice.'
Arelis looks at Chloro Sedai and smiles while throwing a light wink her way.
Meadow says 'Elaborate your thought, please, Aes Sedai'
Chloro undulates her arms allowing her shawl to take its place around her shoulders, and embraces pulling weaves of air earth and water, her form seeming to grow a foot taller than her normal six-foot self. "Novice, remember your place, I do not know how you will escape it if you do not."
Arelis shivers uncomfortably.
Arelis looks at Meadow and looks at her in a way as to letting her know to choose her words carefully.
Meadow says 'Remember my place? Is it not my place to find out what challenge you're offering me to prove myself?'
Arelis looks at Kennira who is sitting down astonished at the conversation happening.
Chloro releases saidar, the illusion fading, "Complete your tasks I assigned with Accepted Arelis, and learn what is needed. Then I will review your request again. A private lesson on the life of a wearied novice, and a private lesson on how to conduct yourself in the tower, and why it is important. How you conduct yourself can save you more than channeling here. Politics, like it or not, are part of your life now. "
Arelis nods at you.
Arelis says 'I will make sure she understands Chloro Sedai.'
Arelis looks at Meadow.
Chloro says 'I would like you to each share your favorite weave as well.
Arelis nods at you.
You sense Arelis connecting to the True Source.
You sense Arelis is channeling saidar.
Arelis moves her hands with strong gestures creating 3 brown threads of Earth. Arelis then proceeds to moving her hands in a flowing smooth motion creating 3 blue threads of Water. Finally, Arelis relaxes her hands movements and creates 2 purple threads of spirit.
You sense Meadow connecting to the True Source.
You sense Meadow is channeling saidar.
Arelis says 'I personally like the weave to grant Strength. I find it very beautiful.'
Meadow gestures briefly at Meadow, who now appears more impressive somehow.
Arelis smiles happily.
Chloro nods "Good you two have found common ground. If the weaves become more explosive, I expect the lesson to move to the charred mounds."
Arelis nods at you.
Meadow says 'Despite what you may believe of me, Aes Sedai, I do have more control than that.'
Chloro says 'Then I look forward to seeing it, Novice Meadow. '
Arelis whispers to Meadow, "Stay quiet and curtsey Meadow."
Arelis curtseys before you.
Meadow says 'Are we finished then, Aes Sedai?'
Arelis says 'I will make sure we do as you asked Aes Sedai.'
Arelis looks at Meadow waiting for her to curtsey.
Arelis nudges Meadow suggestively with her elbow.
Arelis peers closely at Meadow, trying to figure her out.
Chloro moves to leave then looks to Meadow, "You may think me cruel for denying the request. However, there are currents within this tower that would drown you faster than you could embrace. Remember Aes Sedai minds and Accepted for that matter are constantly seeing the patterns in everyday life. You are prepared for life outside the tower. Now we prepare you for life in the tower."
Arelis nods in agreement.
Meadow says 'I shall wait to see how it differs, Aes Sedai.'
Meadow curtseys before you.
Meadow stops following you.
Chloro says 'Light Illumine you both, I do appreciate your conviction Novice, I do not see it often in those that come to us so soon. 2 merits awarded for testing authority. '
Meadow thanks you heartily.
Arelis beams a smile at Meadow.
Arelis nudges Kennira, Caretaker of Novices suggestively with her elbow.
Chloro says 'Just make sure, it does not dig a hole you cannot climb out of...'
