A frightened girl find solace and hope

[Eglantine]

Spending many a day hiding out in her tavern room and a little too much wine in aiding sleep, Eglantine ventures into the streets of Tar Valon, seeking help

Nymyrya says 'Good morning, how is your day going thus far?'

You say 'thankfully uneventful so far'

You smile happily.

Eglantine looks around a little worried

Nymyrya says 'Unfortunately, uneventful as well.'

Nymyrya raises her eyebrows.

Nymyrya says 'Is something the matter?'

A calm woman has arrived from the south.

You say 'I was here before and a strange man was attacking the city'

You say 'it was a terrifying experience'

Nymyrya says 'That is... unpleasant to hear.'

You say 'I have not been able to sleep since'

Eglantine says 'but something happened to me and I don’t know what it was'

Nymyrya smiles reassuringly.

Eglantine says 'I had a little too much wine that night in the tavern and someone said I need to seek some help'

Eglantine says 'but shards of what looked like glass or ice flew from my hands'

Nymyrya says 'The Aes Sedai here at the Tower can show you how to control this gift, so you never have to hurt anyone... that you don't want to.'

Eglantine smiles weakly

Eglantine turns her face up and a look of hope crosses her eyes

Eglantine says 'I have not slept for days in fear'

Nymyrya says 'I know so.'

Nymyrya smiles faintly.

Eglantine says 'that will be my they said to come here'

Eglantine says 'you say you know so, has this happened to you also?'

Nymyrya says 'I would save your tears now, there will be plenty of time for that in the days to come.'

Nymyrya nods at Eglantine.

Eglantine says 'truly? I thought I was a freak or something'

Nymyrya says 'I knew how to channel long before I came to the Tower. But it was a wild, brutish way of using the power. The things I have learned since coming here have turned me from a hammer, and moulded and sharpened me more to a razors edge.'

Eglantine says 'I mean I heard stories in my village, but I thought they were just that, stories'

Eglantine says 'you mean you can actually control WHAT and HOW you do these things?'

Eglantine stares in disbelief and wonderment

Nymyrya nods at Eglantine.

The sun casts a golden glow over the city.

Eglantine 's eye light up a little in the rising sun as a sense of hope enters her mind

Eglantine says 'that would truly be an incredible thing'

Nymyrya says 'It is true. Not all women are capable of achieving, but the path to become Aes Sedai teaches women mastery over the one power. Not just that, but of their minds as well.'

The day has begun.

Nymyrya says 'You must speak to an Aes Sedai at once, they are very busy but I will do my best to see that you meet one as soon as possible.'

Eglantine says 'you will? Oh thank you that would be wonderful'

Eglantine says 'If this is something I have, I would like to learn about it so that doesn't happen again when I don't want it too, I could not live with myself if I hurt someone'

Eglantine looks around to make sure no one is listening

Eglantine says 'so the Aes Sedai are REAL???'

Eglantine says 'you have seen them? The stories of their power are true?'

Nymyrya says 'That depends on the stories, in my experience Aes Sedai in real life are a large departure from what I heard of them as a girl.'

Eglantine says 'the stories I heard as a little girl they sounded scary but majestic in ways'

Nymyrya says 'Really? Most of the ones I heard made them out to be evil witches that stole babes in the night.'

Eglantine says 'My mum never told me those ones, that was always the monsters from the north'

Eglantine says 'so are they scary like you heard?'

Eglantine chuckles politely.

Nymyrya says 'Not... not exactly.'

Eglantine smiles happily.

Eglantine says 'I am sorry for prying'

Nymyrya says 'I had seen more than a dozen trollocs before I had ever met an Aes Sedai. It is commonplace in the borderlands. People tend to exaggerate and vilify that which they lack perspective sufficient for understanding.'

Nymyrya says 'I was born in Tarabon, but was shipped off to a farming village in Saldaea as a young girl once my gifts were discovered.'

Eglantine says 'I have just been so out of it since that happened, I did not mean for it all to pour out. But I am so fortuitous and appreciative you listened; you have given me hope'

Eglantine says 'I feel for the first time I will sleep tonight without the nightmares'

Nymyrya says 'I hope an Aes Sedai will be able to find time to meet with you soon. Sometimes it feels like I can go days without even seeing one.'

Nymyrya says 'A Draghkar, a flying scout for the dark one’s forces.'

Eglantine shivers uncomfortably.

Nymyrya says 'I don't believe that one will be reporting our positions anytime soon.'

Eglantine says 'so if I may ask, do you like living and studying here'

Nymyrya says 'I do. As a Novice it can get somewhat dull after a while. But when you prove yourself worthy of advancement to Accepted, you are able to take some of your studies abroad so to speak. '

Eglantine nods in agreement.

Eglantine says 'I fear I have a long road ahead of me'

Nymyrya says 'Whatever discomfort I may experience here is worth a thousand times more what I have learned. The opportunity for growth is unimaginable. Comfort is the enemy of growth.'

Eglantine nods in agreement.

Eglantine says 'I have found that when I have been learning to fight with my staff'

Nymyrya says 'It would appear I have neglected my studies long enough, though. I must return to the library. I have sent word, hopefully an Aes Sedai will be with you shortly.'

Eglantine says 'I am sorry to have held you up, I hope you do not get in trouble'

Nymyrya waves goodbye to Eglantine.
