An Accepted aids a New Channeler in Embracing the Source

Sarinda Sedai and Elith, a young channeler struggling to embrace and hold Saidar, come across Accepted Prya in Whitebridge. Prya guides Elith through the rosebud exercise and warns her against weaving without proper training.

Magnificent Square

The broad, milk-white arch that gives the town its name dominates
Whitebridge as much close up as it does from afar. The eastern foot of the
White Bridge settles down right in the middle of a large town square, and
extends up and off to the west. The square is paved with even flagstones,
worn down by generations of feet and wagon wheels. Shops and inns dot the
square and the surrounding streets, which lead off in every direction. A
large banner has been attached to a staff, depicting a map of Whitebridge.

Sarinda has arrived from the east, riding a warhorse.
Elith has arrived from the east, riding a dun mare.

You smile happily.
Sarinda smiles at you.

Sarinda touches her hand to her forehead, lips, and heart in greeting.

You curtsey before her.

You say 'Hello Sarinda Sedai. Well met!'

Sarinda nods in agreement.

Elith stops following Sarinda.

You say 'And who is your traveling companion?'

Sarinda says 'If it pleases the Light, I need to retire for now.'

You smile at her.

You nod in agreement.

Elith smiles at you.

Sarinda says 'But this young girl is Elith. It seems she has the spark and can learn to weave
saidar.'

You say 'Wonderful news!'

You say 'Elith would you stay and speak with me a moment?'

Elith says 'It would be my pleasure'

Sarinda says 'I know that you are studying with the Blues and have an interest in supporting these young girls?'

You say 'Indeed! '

You say 'I hope to see you again soon, Aes Sedai'

You curtsey before her.

Sarinda says 'I leave her in your charge, then.'

Elith bows before Sarinda.

Sarinda says 'It is customary to curtsey to Aes Sedai. Perhaps Prya can help model that as well.'

Sarinda smiles knowingly.

You nod in agreement.

You say 'I became very well practiced at curtsying during my time as a Novice!'

Sarinda chuckles politely.

Sarinda says 'The Light illumine you, and bring you safe to journey's end.'

Elith curtseys before Sarinda.

Sarinda nods decisively.

Sarinda says 'A quick learner.'

Sarinda chuckles politely.

Sarinda leaves east riding a warhorse. >>

Elith chuckles politely.

You say 'Now, Elith, I'd like to know more about your ability to touch saidar. '

You say 'Do you have difficulty embracing the source, or does it come easily to you?'

Elith says 'I have found some trouble but I always get there in the end'

You beckon Elith to follow you.

You say 'Please follow me'

Elith starts following you.

The Queen's Squire
This brand new wooden building has taken over from the old decrepit town
stables as the chief place to purchase mounts in the town. Neatly
constructed, it contains two big loose boxes, a tack room and a big food
store. There is garden in front of the building and there appear to be
plans for an exercise paddock out the back.

You close the gate.

You say 'This will be a bit safer - if anyone tries to sneak in we will see the gate open'

You say 'Wouldn't want to get stabbed while chatting!'

You snicker softly.

Elith chuckles politely.

You say 'If you have a moment, I could guide you through an exercise that I was taught which made it easier for me to embrace and hold the source'

Elith nods in agreement.

Elith says 'sounds delightful'

You say 'Take a seat and relax. Clear your mind.'

You sit down and rest your tired bones.

Elith sits down.

Elith rests.

You say 'Imagine a budding rose, not quite in full bloom.'

You say 'Close your eyes if it helps'

You concentrate and watch closely.

You say 'Keep focusing on the flower'

Elith thinks hard.

You say 'Let your emotions, your thoughts, your feelings fade away, let yourself float. You are the flower.'

You say 'The sun is rising and you feel its warmth on your petals. You can see the glow of it coming up as dew drops seem to evaporate from your petals.'

You say 'You are at peace.'

Elith says 'I am at peace'

You say 'Slowly allow yourself to drink in the sun as your petals unfold and the rays of sun pour
into you as you embrace the source'

You sense Elith connecting to the True Source.

You feel the flows of saidar coursing through your body.

You smile happily.

You say 'That's it'

Elith smiles happily.

You sigh in relief as you feel Saidar fill you.

You say 'Hold Saidar and keep your mind empty.'

You say 'How do you feel?'

Elith says 'It feels soooo wonderful'

Elith says 'Like never before, everything just feels more real, more vibrant'

You smile brightly.

You say 'Imagine your petals filling with the light of Saidar, growing brighter and brighter'

You watch as the glow around Elith brightens.

You say 'Wonderful! It is clear you have great strength in the Source.'

You say 'Do you feel the power strengthening?'

Elith says 'Yes, it's invigorating'

You say 'Now open your eyes, but don't release the source'

You stop resting, and stand up.

Elith stops resting, and clambers on her feet.

You say 'Does your grasp of the source feel strong? Or is it slipping away?'

Elith says 'It is strong'

You smile happily.

Elith says 'very strong'

You nod encouragingly

You say 'Very good!'

You say 'Sarinda Sedai was right. You are a very quick learner!'

A dun mare pricks its ears forward and looks alert.

You pat a dun mare on her head.

Elith smiles happily.

You say 'You can use this exercise in the future if it helps'

Elith says 'I will'

You say 'Anytime you have difficulty embracing the source, imagine a rosebud'

You smile happily.

Elith says 'It came so easily'

You say 'I would take a moment to warn you of weaving until you have received instruction in the Tower'

You say 'I had a good friend as a child who weaved untrained and did not survive.'

Prya frowns and looks at the ground.

You say 'I am determined that no one else will endure her fate!'

You say 'It can be dangerous to yourself and others if you don't have proper control'

Elith says 'Sarinda Sedai led me through some weaves while she was here'

You smile at her.

You say 'Wonderful! '

Elith says 'Though I fear the same outcome your friend suffered'

Elith says 'This is why I must get stronger, so I may join the tower'

You nod at her.

You say 'You will also want to be careful who you weave in front of, as we have many enemies. I
assume you have heard of the Children and Seanchan invaders?'

Elith nods in agreement.

Elith says 'Sadly'

You say 'I would happily help you gain experience another time!'

Elith nods in agreement.

You say 'I must run for now, but I hope this helped'

You smile at her.

Elith says 'It did'

You say 'I look forward to getting to know you once you are a Novice'

You smile happily.

Elith sighs loudly.

Elith says 'And you as well'

You say 'You can reach out to me any time with questions or for help'

Prya moves toward the door and carefully opens the gate.

Elith curtseys before you.

Elith says 'Go in the light'

You say 'No need to curtsy before me!'

You say 'I'm merely an Accepted'

You smile happily.

You say 'I hope to see you again very soon!'
