Errors with gem mining

I have been working at gem mining for the last 2 hours and have not been able to get a single raw gemstone. :( Every single time I get to the part where the mobol allows me to "search sieve" to look for gemstones, I either get an error saying "Search what sieve?" or "Ok." followed by nothing else. I had the exact same thing happen to me when leaving Amadicia last week. No wagon, but it happened right after leaving port. In my case I thought I had Sneak on and that maybe that had triggered it, but that wasn’t the case either when I checked the log. :(
