Re: Itsy's Janky Code Blog
I only had 20 minutes today so just worked on some infrastructure for the warranting command. Essentially, we needed to find a way to get from the concept of 'your clan'->'what warrant it is you're actually setting'; this is not as obvious as it first sounds, as the warrants are tied to city identit...

Re: Itsy's Janky Code Blog
So I didn't do the justice clan function in the way I expected. Instead, I hard-coded the notion of a justice clan into the flags of the clan itself (you know, like a clan being 'secret' or 'shadow', that kind of thing) and checked for that. And then flagged all the justice clans. That took half an ...

Re: Itsy's Janky Code Blog
Today I'm going to write the blog first and then do the actual coding and then update with hilarious shenaniockups. Last time took forever and my spawn-free time is limited! Here's the plan: Test the petnaming thing aha no, we're not doing that. Warrant and pardon commands for Justice clan members t...

Itsy's Janky Code Blog
Following on from Elysia’s blog about building a master quest, I thought I might try this for coding- and so here we are, My Janky Code Blog. Why, I hear you ask? Well, mostly for giggles, and also because Ely said she’d read it and she is absolutely the glue that holds the game together, so it’s wo...

Re: Make all clanning requirements accessible
Clans of the garden variety are free to decide their own clanning procedures. If they wish to publish their requirements, they are free to do so. If they wish to have automated clanning, we will generally emplace infrastructure to enable this. Unless we have a substantial reason to step in, this is ...

Re: Warriors Need a (Slight?) Buff
We're not giving anyone autotrack, I was merely commenting on the ridiculous nature of life.

Re: Warriors Need a (Slight?) Buff
Edit: I forgot to say - making warriors able to see bloodies is an interesting idea, but we don't currently have the source file for tracks, so we can't anyway. Ironically we can give anyone autotrack because that's pretty much a case of writing print_the_damn_autotracks() at the correct point. Mayb...

Re: Warriors Need a (Slight?) Buff
Irons we have in the fire: Some changes to the values of postures are in the queue, although the effect of those is generally to lessen the gap between masters and !masters. We've discussed giving warriors and slight HP regen uptick (not to be cumulative with the warder one). So far no firm decision...

Re: The Wheel of TIme Season 1 Episode 1, 2, 3 Discussion Thread
It's in the books, although I don't recall where, that although you don't need to gesture to channel, if that's the way you learn a weave it's a very hard habit to break.
Aiel Wise Ones don't gesture and it'll be interesting to see how that plays out in the series.

It was pretty bad. I'll probably watch all of it.
