Tracking takes time, even autotrack isnt quite as fast as spamming straight somewhere. A solo or small group that can hop horses effectively is faster than any tracker, and even if the follower can autotrack and hope horses equally well theres not as many horses available on the road for them, slow...

Been researching equipment and it seems these two items only loaded on Alamir the horse thief. With his removal, are these loading anywhere else?

If the wiki is still correct about the items necessary to craft the rare fencing blade, i think someone needs to take a look at the shield being more valuable than the item it creates.
