Re: Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8 (finale) Discussion

I selectively forgot about Moiraine little "I have to obey the Amyrlin or I will die" bout of pseudo-compulsion BS. WTF is that about? How is that going to impact the story going forward especially in Season 3? You know what I'm talking about Sallie Daera. The show definitely includes more scenes hu...

Re: Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 8 (finale) Discussion

Well, it pains me to say this but Season 2 does follow TGH more closely than Season 1 follows EOTW; however, Season 1 set a really low bar. Much of the high-level plot was preserved, but the writers changed enough details that the story was changed in fundamental ways. Most of it I did not care for....

Re: Wheel of Time Season 2: Episode 7 Discussion *spoilers*

Like, I'm pretty sure they are saying Aviendha and Perrin are in Toman Head ... if not, are we to assume they WALKED from TH to the waste? Hah! I was confused too until the last scene where they finally crested that ridge and was able to see Falme. I thought for sure they somehow power-ported to th...

Wheel of Time Season 2: Episode 7 Discussion *spoilers*

Wheel of Time Season 2: Episode 7 "Daes Dae'Mar" Air Date: Sept 28 2023 A familiar face foils Moiraine and Rand’s plans. **spoilers below for both this episode and future ones, including the books** I was becoming more optimistic about the series, because the last few episodes seem to be trending to...

Re: Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 1, 2, and 3 Discussion

Perrin and the Shienarians are all the way the frack in Toman Head, and nobody told us until Episode 2 or 3 when the Seanchan show up and we learn they are at Atuan's Mill. For most of that episode I thought the writers had placed the Seanchan in Shienar or along a river in Andor/Cairhien. I was co...

Re: Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 1, 2, and 3 Discussion

** spoilers, read only if you read the books and saw Ep 1-3 Season 2** I liked Episode 2 and 3 much more than Episode 1. Episode 1 just brought back the bad taste in my mouth about how the authors rewrote so much of the core narrative. Ep 2 and 3, especially with the scenes in the Tower, was actuall...

Re: A walk through time

This was one of my favorite classroom exercises even to this day. Reading "very long time ago" and I cringe looking at the time in my own journal where I wrote down when this took place. Though the events that took place in the months before and after were some of the most fun I ever had with some o...

Re: Ishamael's cycle, the Corenne and the Aiel War.

I was just reading about the Mantear royal family's last days on the throne. Gitara Moroso was responsible for both Luc Mantear going to the Blight to seek glory (learning to him merging with Isam to become Slayer) and for Tigraine going to the Aiel Waste to become a Maiden or humanity would suffer ...

Re: Wheel of Time season 1 episode 8 "The Eye of the World" season finale

The Lews Therin scene also gave strong vibes that Lews was just an idiot male and wouldn't listen to a smart women telling him that what he was doing was foolhardy and dangerous. And what happened? He didn't listen and he broke the world and sent that fantastical and futuristic world into the dark ...

Re: Ishamael's cycle, the Corenne and the Aiel War.

Some other things Ishamael may have influenced since they occurred close to years we know Ishamael was active: - Toppling of the Compact of Ten Nations by engineering the betrayal and destruction of Manetheren (dividing humanity) - Helped engineer Guaire Amalasan's rise (dividing humanity) - The exp...
