The obvious and much maligned answer would be roleplay, of course. Not everyone wants to squeeze every ounce of power out of their characters to manipulate the game to their best advantage. Some of us just like the RP.

I remember helping a player “remove” the taint using saidar. At the time, Imms wouldn’t remove it unless it was role-played out.
