Re: Fear of the abs FC

Strange to have this attitude about PK, especially from a heavily bonused fade. Plenty of places to fight any setup smartly.

Re: Todd Fujawa player of Oak and others

I remember Oak, though we never had the opportunity to get close. Sad news, but thank you for sharing. Many good WoTMUD memories from that era.

Re: PK skill development

I think Rig's advice is great. If you have the numbers and someone is running low, push into their territory to keep the fight going. They're low anyway so you can take riskier hits/chases since they're unlikely to be able to turn around and chase you all the way back, and those can be really fun na...

Re: Crit kills

Think y'all are being a little harsh to Revescaal here. Aloy is a great and very fun pker, yes yes. Aloy was also frustrated with Revescaal sitting at mobs, that's fine. Sure, he could definitely have played more aggressively. But don't know why everyone is dunking on him like it's the end of the wo...

Re: idk if I am just terrible or what but I feel like channies are just bad *shrug*

Based on your prac setup you might consider picking up Hammer of Air or Hailstorm, also. Your snarky comment about flamestrike and chill is only half-true, but if you are wishing for a short weave that you can use in combination with chill those are both viable options. Hailstorm is obviously not gr...

Re: idk if I am just terrible or what but I feel like channies are just bad *shrug*

I think Paigey has it right — the main thing you could do to improve here is that you are walking back into running bash timers, and with a weave running means you have -10 DB and -10 PB, making you more likely to get hit. This was the bane of my existence when I came back in 2020: my timing was all...

Herzog seems obviously afk in that log? The multiple stab attempts are a bit confusing but to each their own.

Re: What times of the day are better-without MCs?

Beyond the good advice the others have given (there is definitely such a thing as getting over-invested and ending up burnt out), make sure you’re checking for rats/ravens/crows and not letting them follow you. And, vary where you run to. Cairhien road is tough because it’s so narrow, but it does ha...

Re: Seriously - why does this dung happen

I don't really buy this "channeling mob are necessary for last stands" type of sentiment. I'd much rather beefy mobs in no-channel rooms that aren't 1 exit doors for that. Lunal is extremely effective from a SS perspective, for example. No-channel rooms are trash for anyone who plays a channeler, i...
