Also added a driftwood in his pouch because there's no obvious way that suggests you might search for driftwood.

You should be able to type 'search' in that room and find a piece of driftwood.

Been there. If you sneak in, it doesn't see you so it won't trigger the driftwood load.

I was under the impression that the driftwood spawns when you enter the smob.




Amongst the Tide Pools
The cavern floor is covered with a layer of shallow seawater, and sand
kicks up from the bottom to cloud the water. The walls recede into shadow
except for an opening to the east that water laps through in waves. The air
is warm and humid, and the roar of the ocean seems to echo off the oxidized
stalagmites that form a treacherous barrier from the opening to the
shell covered shoreline.
