Into the Woods
Scarcely forested lands to the east give way to proper woods growing
steadily into a thick and aged forest. The ground becomes softer as dead
leaves and branches blanket the forest floor and paths become less direct.
Large gaps in the trees to the west and south make passage those ways much
easier than where some tracks crossing the ground lead.

Twisted Branches
Thick trees of the ancient woods twine together making odd shapes and thick
groups many trees around. The way east is completely shut by the twisted
branches. South along the forest leads up to a massive white oak tree
hulking over the rest of the forest.

A Great White Oak
The massive trees of the forest rise in a steep crescendo to the tallest
among them. Thick, pale bark climbs the side of this massive oak which
easily overtops the wall surrounding the forest. The spreading branches
only fall short of the White Tower on the skyline.

Muddy Foothills
Water breaking through the rocks above, from deep in the island have made
the ground perpetually slick with mud. Deep gouges in the mud show where
something has attempted to climb the impossible step and long still show
where one has slid down from above.

Toppled logs cover the ground and leading to the east piles begin to form
into large hulking hills filled. The dried wood shows the signs of age and
odd cracks spread across the prone wood. Standing trees stab between the
fallen logs showing their resilience.

Dwindling Woods
The paths give more room between the trees as the trunks thin and become
scarce. To the west the thick trees of centuries old growth blocks the way
and the paths here head in the opposite direction. Far to the north a
glimpse of the surrounding wall is visible above the boughs.

A Sandy Path
Abandoned by the trees and waters of the forest this stretch of land has
had the moisture sucked out of it. Scraggly weeds creep across the sand and
shallow prints show where animals of the wood have skittered across. To the
west trees begin to grow where the ground is more fertile.

Thick Mud
Sand from the north quickly becomes darker as it leads into a sticky mess
of turned, wet ground. Scattered chunks of redstone from upstream have
imbedded themselves in the water's bank, breaking the water and giving a
constant feed of water to the muddied ground.

Nearing a Thin Forest
Sandy ground from the river begins to give way to black earth and signs of
vegetations creep up. The stretch of ground, an odd blend of life and
emptiness, makes a short path to the forest. The sand to the east becomes
packed and hard as it approaches the river.

South of the ancient forests the trees are thinner and scattered. The great
white oak of the forest is visible in the north along with the White Tower
standing far above the wall. To the southeast the land begins to grow wet
and muddy closer to a barely visible river.

behemoth trees support a massive canopy and they make a hall to rival any
palace. Silence reigns over this area in the forest, any noises getting
lost high above in the arching boughs. Many animal tracks lead to a hollow
at the base of one of the massive trees.

A Path Through the Circle of Stones
What may have once been a perfect circle of artisting pillars is now a
pattern of weather-worn tall rock, most of their surfaces worn smooth by
time. In the center of the circle is a square patch that is lined with
obsidian lengths of rock, about knee height. Vines climb what is left of
the pillars, and wild grasses grow up between the blackened rock.

I don't know why this is my muscle memory, but for some reason when I think it's too late to flee, I assume they are weaving Flame Strike and then try to start my next weave quickly using PONR. Instead, it keeps getting me hit in the face, usually an Ice Spikes.

In hindsight, I should've dismounted and let my horse refresh up, given the low stakes of a spar and not having to worry about personal MVs this close to Tar Valon. Not being able to flee caused me a few mistakes because I missed it in the spam and then took a weave to the face when I had tried to flee.

Overall, I still have to practice more to develop appropriate muscle memory with Slice Weaves to better know whether to use it, and when to use it. In this spar it felt like we were timing weaves at roughtly the same moment, so I thought Slice or Earthquake might throw off her rhythm. Vianca is skilled at this type of fighting and really pushed me to move quickly, so it felt like we both learned something from the process.
