Ali stands outside the Brown ajah quarters, her left hand quietly placing hair over her left ear. A few feet away she can hear the soft foot falls of Leria Sedai.

'It is done, Ali. " she speaks to herself quietly. Months of examination, travelling and speaking to so many different people accumulated in a few pages of documents and research into this coughing sickness. Aes sedai Leria Sedai and Elyse sedai has her research now. What can be done to prevent this from
spreading further will be handled. In her left hand she tucks her bag of herbs behind her, a sound of exasperation emanating from behind her.
That is probably the part about the fact that 3 fists of Trollocs have succumbed to the sickness and the fades are livid. She should possibly bring to the green ajah the fact that there has been serious strikes and attacks on her life since the fists tracked her around the dead animals.

Ali steps down the stairs, nodding at what could only be a portents of things to come. Accepted Inimys' work on the leylines helped in finding some patterns in the spreading of the sickness.

A giggle and a small scuffle north east of her draws her attention.

She glances towards the Yellow ajah chambers, sighing in relieve at Novice Firimei and Talia. Firimei has a quiet demeanor that hides a heart of passion, which makes it all the more worthwhile that the sickness didnt spread so far into her body. How do you explain to a young girl what you yourself don't understand. Sickness is like an enemy. You battle it with wits, the one power and sometimes a degree of determination.

In a few days she will have to travel to fal dara again. One of the wisdoms there have some interesting ways of spotting an itch that develops from riding horses in the heat of the blight .

The wheel weaves as the wheel wills. In this case the coughing sickness is in the correct hands. May the Creator bless those that find a way to end it.

Ali smiles as she heads towards the stables.

(This concludes this part of the story for me. I really did hand over research to Leria Sedai on this sickness that took me months of fun on the spot rp to create. i thank everyone that wrote parts of the story and for those that inspired me to evolve my own rp to incorporate this into it. Thanks to Elyse sedai for showing me that a sick rabbit is just not a sick rabbit, but can be a tool to measure a lot in the game. Thanks for Leria sedai and her rabbit explosion in the Brown ajah quarters. It still makes me laugh at the instant rp created there. Mostly I would like to keep having roleplay stories like this that combines everyones journeys together. I had fun and it allowed me to bring connections where there was none before. Hugs, Ali.)

Shelves seemed never ending , especially those which required handles to open unto other never ending shelves. Almost like another part of the Tower opened up, seemingly hidden from daily life.
Firimei sighed as she wiped her sweaty brow, then hastily dried her hands on a once bright white dress.

‘Light this dust is irritating my nose, sniffles and coughs are not good around old tomes and delicate scrolls.’ Firimei sighed again at her thoughts as she coughed again.

Turning on her heels she nearly bumped into an absent minded Accepted.

‘My apologies Accepted, I was in the middle of a rather irritating cough.’ Firimei bobbed an awkward curtsy as another cough-sneeze escaped her. Mumbling through her gauntlets she looked into the worried eyes of the Accepted.

‘Novice what is your name? Firimei is it? You should see the Yellow Ajah and Accepted Ali, she has been researching the connection of the Shadowspawn and this illness doing the rounds. Also Etain Sedai would be a port of call as well.’

The Accepted looked upon Firimei with concern and focus ‘You look pale Firimei, off to the Yellow Ajah floor.’

A now faint Novice was helped by a worried Accepted towards those who could help. Startled glances passed as the two made their way up the stairs slowly. A White Aes Sedai passed a cool glance at both of them, nodding as she helped Firimei towards the Yellow tiled hallway.

‘Wait here for a Yellow Sedai to attend her, Elyse, Etain Sedai and possibly Accepted Ali will be along as soon as I send for them.’ Cold seeming eyes glanced at them both as the Aes Sedai nodded, walking off towards the pigeon coups.

A now shivering, sweaty Firimei lay murmuring on a pallet surrounded by Novices and Accepted’s alike all passing comment on her would be treatment and ailment.

‘Give her room Ladies, give her room to breathe. I am sure all the Novices have dishes to do and my peers can assist me in helping Firimei until the Yellow Sedai get here.’ Accepted Ali commanded the situation with clinical precision and calmness.

Murmurs of ascent were echoed around the room as organisation came to the chaos which was.
Firimei briefly nodded her thanks and tried to get up for a curtsy, but Ali firmly and gently pushed her back. ‘Now then Firimei, what shall we do with you. I expect you completed the work on the first Oath I set you?’

Ali’s manner of reassuring those in need, worked its wonder as Firimei laid back visibly more relaxed. Now all she could do is wait..

Voices were clamouring to be heard above her, as Firimei sunk her hands into the large sink. As she rubbed her face with foamy hands, Laras gave her another stern look.

“You think you’re doing well enough now Child? You may think so, but these fifty or so stacks may say differently.”

Firimei glanced up quickly as she dumbly nodded ‘Light what did she say, something about er..something .’ Dragging herself from the thoughts she attempted to reply.

“Yes Mistress Laras, of course.”

The Mistress of the White Tower kitchens merely sighed and shook her head, as she took off to berate another Novice.

In truth Firimei was counting the hours to at least she could rake the paths, fresh air and relief from the four walls of the well used kitchen. With haste and of course due care and attention, she washed, scrubbed and made sure those plates sparkled.
Bobbing a curtsy to the Mistress of the Kitchens, she went off towards the path. Abruptly she stopped and realised what intuition made her stop. The clamouring of voices were getting nearer now, servants were running here and there. One looked up sharply and was about to speak.

“I shall take it from here thank you, now then Novice what are you doing standing there gaping like a Tarien trout. We need to get you to somewhere…

The Aes Sedai voice trailed off as alarm bells rang throughout the City ‘Western Bridge is under attack.’ Those words turned the Aes Sedai eyes into steel and she grabbed an Accepted and ordered her to gather those able to battle.

As she turned to stride off, the Aes Sedai quickly heeled around and with all calmness gave Firimei a level stare “You Child, get safe and do not go outside of the Tower. You hear, DO NOT!”

Firimei gulped and trembled, as if frozen to the spot. When her limbs responded she ran up the stairway to the Novice rooms and along with her peers elbowed a way to a window.

What greeted her wasn’t the quiet, routine life of Tar Valon, but a mixture of Aes Sedai, Gaidin and Accepteds all battling side by side. It looked almost like an Illuminator’s display that her Father took her to once, apart from the blood, gore and mangled limbs of the Shadowspawn. Fire and ice exploded from Aes Sedai and Accepted alike, Warders steely eyed slashing through Trolloc’s and what looked like a scarred almost human face.

‘No wait.’ Firimei thought, those have to be the eyeless ones. Myrddraal or otherwise known as Fades. Shock over took her face as she jostled to see the events unfurling outside. As she wiped the fogged up windows, Firimei recognised one of the Accepted. It was Accepted Ali, whom had spoken to her a few times and had been very helpful. She was all focus and deliberation as she too weaved to protect her City and its citizens.

‘Wasn’t she mentoring under Elyse Sedai, one of the Yellow Ajah. So the healing Ajah prevent and cure battle wounds.’ Firimei gazed around the Novice rooms , the noise was almost unbearable. With some commenting on wanting to fight, others scared hugging their pillows. Mistress Kennira clapped her hands and the silence was all abound.

“Novices, that is quite enough. As you can see the fight is in our favour and the spawn are being pushed back. We’re protected from harm and there is no need for us to worry. To those voicing desire to battle, enough time for that if you ever gain the Ring and face your fears. Just put your trust into those outside, Aes Sedai, Gaidin and future Aes Sedai. For they are trained and confident.”
With that girls clambered down from the window sills and made their way to the beds and low tables with hand-books spread out. Also the odd copy of the Old Tongue and Mistress Laras guide to kitchen etiquette - A Novice is seen and not heard-to break plates, lay around.

A sigh escaped Firimei’s mouth and one more glance outside, were she felt it was like a different world. Separated by a pane of glass and many years of training, study and patience.

"Someone come help, please we need help." yells Accepeted Tarrin, her concerned look scans the Apartments around her.

On the ground, lying in a bundle trembling, is Ali, her face pale and blood pooling around her.

"Ali, can you hear me? Sweet creator, hold on love."

Outside of the room the place starts filling up with Accepted and Aes sedai. This close to the yellow ajah apartments a good few Accepted in training to be healers come rushing over. The room has this sickly sweet smell, a pot of tea brewing in the corner. All around Ali papers spread out.

"Don't touch her, Accepted Tarrin!" says a quiet, strong voice from the doors. Elyse sedai, glides into the room, with Aes sedai serenity as she looks over ali.

Tarrin steps away, almost falling over herself as she gasps and responds to the command automatically.

A wet, seering cough racks Ali's body, her left leg twitches in spasms as a cramp and cough together rips through the light skinned Accepted.

"Tell me what is going on here, Tarrin? What has happened to her?" Elyse sedai kneels, studying the girls quietly, waiting for a response from anyone.

Tarrin shakes visibly, not moving from the ground. She points at the direction of the Fidrag fade flesh lying on the shelf close to the doors. Everyone steps away from it quietly, frowning at it. Ali gasps and keeps coughing, a splatter of blood trickles down her right cheek,

"Elyse sedai, it hurts.. don't do healing...makes it worse...herbs..*cough* " the rooms suddenly goes very dark and all of room explodes into complete chaos.

Out of the left shadows steps Dreadlord Wept and a fade Shzrei, fireballs and mayhem erupts in the room.

To the north alarm bells of the Tower rings over the land as the crier bellows in panic.

In the chaos, no one sees the wolfish bear trolloc grabbing for alis legs and dragging her away.

Ali quietly unsheathes her dagger from under her cloak, bending down, she cuts a piece off of Fidrag. In her mind she draws the connection between
all of those coughing animals and this creature lying here.
In this brief moment, the chaos of the room slows down and she can almost hear her calm breathing as Dean Gaidin proctect Kitiara sedai, brave Danila and Inymis fighting to keep the Al'ghol trolloc fist from over running them.

[i]I will have to examine this later. It is puzzling how many coughing sheep, coughing bears and dead trollocs have in common with this creature. Though even in his death, she doubts this is the end of the trail to whomever started this world wide sickness.[/i]

Oh Light, not the sheep! Nooooooo!

The stable boy anxiously rubs his hands together. A few horses snorts in fear as the stable master holds the coughing rabbit in his hands.

'Is there anything that you can do for him?" he pleads quietly.

"I will try, Master, but he is very, very weak." replies Ali as she gingerly takes the silk and ivory wrapped bundle from the Master of horses in Tar valon. A quiet fills the air and a few people stand close to the entrance of the stables, mumbling in anxious voices.

Ali turns to the small cot she has set up on the south eastern side of the stables. Her hands steady as she quietly put the coughing rabbit next to a steaming pot of andilay tea. With deft hands she examines the patient with the intensity of a ogier singing to a tree.

Behind her, looming over her left shoulder, is another anxious little girl staring down at the bundle. The flickering lamp light seems pale compared to the hovering light ball above Ali.

'When did he get sick?" she asks as she rubs the space where the rabbits' lungs are.

Her question hangs in the air above her. At first no one answers and then the answer comes from the north eastern side. The petshop owner, Peter, twice the size of ali, but darker in complexion. She quietly recalls him being from Murandy.

"He is recently arrived from Tear, Accepted." his voice is surprisingly high for one of his bulk.

She nods quietly, absently rubbing a scar on her left hand as in a moment the rabbit drifts into a deep sleep. Her ministrations of his lungs appeared to ease the sickness that has his lungs in a grip.

"I have seen this before. Vultures and bitemes near Tear appear to be the carriers of this." She speaks confidently.

She wraps the bundle up and stand gently, 'I will take him upstairs into the tower. When i come back i would very much like to speak to the captain of the River boat that brought this animal here. If a novice or anyone else catches this sickness then there might be worse in store for us."

Everyone around her steps away as if she has just stated a proclamation of intent to raise taxes in Tar valon.

Two Days later in a Village east of Emonds field.

"The sheep are coughing. What on earth makes a sheep cough? " states a young boy quietly to the man standing near the well. His sheepherders clothes and stature marks him as a hard working emonds fielder.

"Rest easy, Tarin. We have a wisdom that travels from Tarren ferry next of tomorrow. I will ask her to look at them. For now. You will have to separate them from the rest of the flock."

The boy looks eagerly at his father and then whistles a complicated tune at the grey-black sheep dog. Within a short period of time 9 sheep are gathered to the north, away from the flock.

To the north, deep in the Blighted mountains.

A wolf faced trolloc kicks at his companion. The aim hits it square in the face as the wolf faced growls while ripping the hind quarter from a
blighted bear.

The second trolloc growls deeply, wiping the spittle and gore from its right paw. It gurgles suddenly and topples over.

"You deserve that..." the wolf faced trolloc grunts. It takes a long time for it to realize that its companion is dead. The foamy spittle dripping out if its dead companions beak and mouth appears green, smelling sickly.

To the left of it another blighted bear coughs suddenly in the early morning light, The wolf faced trolloc, stupidly frowns at what is happening in front of it. Two more coughs come from the north and south of it.

A fade stumbles into the clearing, shaking of pain and anger. It lashes out at the corpse lying at the feet of its shadow stallion.

"Clear this area, hu-mans are coming.' the fade sways in the dawn of light.

The wolf faced trolloc drops its meal and grabs the corpse of its companion. The coughing blight bears a quiet death chant in the air above everything.
