After delivering a shield to Fal Dara, Aira rode back south. When resting Dapple in the square, the following unfolded.

Tower Square
This side of the square is the southern section of the Tower Square.
In the center is the walled off White Tower. To the south a large
boulevard opens up leading to the Southharbor. To the north you see
the southern gate of the Tower grounds. The square continues east
and west.

A flatbed wagon rocks back and forth on spoked wheels.
A marble bench, flecked with gold and bronze, adorns the floor.
An oil lamp, set in a steel cage, hangs from a high wooden pole.
An elaborately sculpted marble fountain splashes merrily.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
A Tairen bloodstock stallion stands here, tail swaying with the breeze, being ridden by you.
A calm woman bathed in serenity seems to attract your attention.
Lady Chloro Arovni is standing here.
A wild stallion bucks madly.
Lady Ashlynn Alessandri is standing here.
A Tower Guard watches for signs of trouble.
An ageless woman is here, appearing distracted.
A rat has arrived from the east.

Ashlynn looks at you.

Ashlynn smiles happily.

Chloro inclines her head in greeting to you.

Aira nods in agreement.

Aira bows deeply.

Aira says 'Aes Sedai.'

Ashlynn gives some coins to a beggar.

A beggar knuckles his forehead to Ashlynn, honoring her.

A beggar says 'thankin you, thankin you kindly.'

Ashlynn says 'Baroness.'

Chloro says 'Tar Valon Welcomes you Baroness.'

Ashlynn says 'How is Cairhien these days?'

Aira says 'Quiet, thankfully.'

Ashlynn smiles happily.

Aira says 'Only House rivalries, no real calamities.'

Ashlynn says 'Ah yes, that darned Game they play.'

Chloro looks to Ashlynn after that comment then chuckles. "As you don't play the same daily.."

Aira says 'Played by high and low.'

Ashlynn says 'Well if anyone accidentally drinks the wrong cup, you know where to find me.'

Maddy has arrived from the east, riding a bloodstock stallion.

Aira says 'We are fortunate to have Tar Valon so close to us.'

Maddy smiles at Aira.

Chloro says 'I could not agree more Baroness.'

Aira says 'Pigeons cross the distance quickly.'

Aira smiles happily.

Chloro says 'Sister, I am sure the world could use with justice being dispensed. '

Aira says 'I wager your Accepted here must be familiar with the Game too.'

Ashlynn says 'How far is it between Tar Valon and Cairhien? A few hundred miles?'

Aira says 'A few days ride, so I would say so.'

Maddy smiles at you.

Ashlynn says 'Accepted Maddy, are you familiar with Daes Dae'mar?'

Maddy says 'I am familiar yes.'

Maddy beams a smile at Ashlynn.

Maddy says 'I grew up in Cairhien'

Ashlynn says 'You must be a natural, then...'

Chloro says 'I should hope she is more than just familiar... '

Aira says 'Ah, you did? How did you end up there, if I may ask?'

Maddy says 'Well my mother wanted me to marry who she wanted and i did not so I left.'

Aira says 'Smart girl. Forge your own path. Men be damned. Well, or mothers.'

Ashlynn says 'Believe it or not, that one is heard almost as much as parents getting mauled by trollocs.'

Maddy says 'I ended up there and Chloro Sedai sensed I had the gift, so I stayed.'

Ashlynn smirks at Aira.

Ashlynn says 'Men have their uses.'

Maddy says 'I hear he is happily married with 4 children and he and his wife are quite fat and content so all worked out.'

Maddy smiles at you.

Aira says 'Men have their uses, if overseen by a competent person.'

Chloro rolls her eyes softly, "Here I though Alanna was the hussy.."

Aira smiles mischievously at Ashlynn Sedai.

Ashlynn peers closely at Chloro, trying to figure her out.

Ashlynn says 'But knowing the game, how did it work out for your family?'

Chloro says 'Have a portrait done sister, it will last longer.'

Maddy says 'If you listen to Vianca Sedai, its to get her pretty things. Is why she had 2 Gaidin.'

Ashlynn says 'Do you have any siblings?'

Aira says 'Yes, retribution might happen if a girl is too 'headstrong'.'

Aira sniffs loudly to demonstrate what she thinks of that.

Maddy says 'Yes i have 3 older brothers. My mother has not been able to make them matches yet either.'

Aira looks pensive for a moment, as if she gauges possibilities.

Maddy says 'My family has a farm south of the city.'

Aira says 'Ah, wine country. Did you produce grapes?'

Ashlynn stares into space, reminiscing the past on her family's small farm in Altara.

Chloro says 'Do forgive me, i need to go brow beat a thiefbane..'

Chloro leaves west. <<

Ashlynn bellows 'But he's coming here, no need to leave.'

Chloro has arrived from the west, riding a warhorse.

Chloro says 'there is if i require a mount..'

Chloro winks suggestively.

Aira says 'I myself grew up in Altara, at a woodmill. It's where I learned to use an axe.'

Aira grins evilly.

Ashlynn strokes her chin thoughtfully.

Ashlynn says 'You learn something new every day.'

Aira hefts her warhammer momentarily.

Ashlynn says 'We had a small farm.'

Aira says 'Axe or warhammer, not that great a difference.'

Ashlynn says 'A lot of livestock though.'

Maddy nods at Ashlynn.

Ashlynn says 'Chickens, cows, pigs.'

Maddy says 'We bred horses.'

Ashlynn says 'Fancy. Were they racing horses?'

Maddy says 'Yes I love my bloodstocks.'

Maddy says 'Hello Amyr, welcome to Tar Valon.'

Amyr winks at Maddy.

Aira says 'I prefer slightly more sturdy horses, if I'm being honest. For battle at least.'

Aira says 'For speedy travel, bloodstocks are great.'

Maddy nods in agreement.

Amyr removes a pair of wicker panniers from a warhorse.

Ashlynn says 'I've never seen a cat that follows a bird so peacefully.'

Maddy says 'I didn't even attempt battle until I came to Tar Valon. Nor had I ever done a chore.'

Aira says 'Never a chore!?'

Ashlynn says 'You must have been spoiled.'

Aira looks baffled at that.

Aira says 'I was always washing my brothers' smallclothes, I feel.'

Ashlynn says 'Up with the rooster crowing, throw the seed for the flock, milk the cows...'

Maddy smile Ashlynn, ' I assure you my older brothers made sure I was not.'

A raucous group of sailors has arrived from the south.

Ashlynn looks at a raucous group of sailors.

Ashlynn says 'They look like they know how to have fun.'


Ashlynn nudges you suggestively. You two have an understanding.

Aira chuckles politely.

Maddy nods in agreement.

Maddy says 'I have heard that about sailors.'

Aira considers the potential implications of a Cairhienin Aes Sedai.

Aira says 'Perhaps I will have to visit your family's farm when I'm in need of a good mount.'

Aira says 'Dapple is getting old.'

Ashlynn looks at a bloodstock stallion.

Maddy says 'Yes please do.'

Ashlynn says 'What's the difference between a Tairen bloodstock and a Cairhienin bloodstock?'

Maddy says 'Not much, we buy our stock from Tear.'

Aira says 'I do not feel qualified to answer that question, perhaps Maddy can?'

Maddy beams a smile at Ashlynn.

Aira says 'I assume you also keep track of lineage?'

Kalli has arrived from the west, riding a gray palfrey.

Ashlynn looks at Kalli.

Kalli bows deeply.

Chloro inclines her head in greeting to Kalli.

Kalli bows before Chloro.

Maddy says 'Well the trainers and my father and oldest brother did. I was not that interested it that part. I just like to ride fast.'

Maddy grins evilly.

Aira cackles gleefully.

Aira says 'Yes, riding at a gallop is quite exhilirating.'

Ashlynn nods, her green eyes sparkling.

Maddy says 'My favoirite thing to do.'

Kalli says 'Who doesn't love a good ride!'

Maddy nods at Kalli.

Aira says 'Especially considering a horse can jump at invisible things at any moment.'

Aira glares slightly at Dapple.

Maddy says 'Ah yes and the trick is to stay mounted.'

Maddy grins at Aira.

Ashlynn says 'I've seen some fancy demonstrations before, what was that called again...'

Ashlynn says 'Dressage!'

Aira tilts her head back and laughs.

Ashlynn says 'Did you ever practice that?'

Amyr says 'Is that when I tell my tailor I dress to the left?'

Ashlynn chuckles politely.

Ashlynn looks at Amyr.

Aira gathers her reins and subtly boots her horse, it starts to trot into place, its neck arched.

Ashlynn looks up at Aira's horse, admiring the beautiful beast.

Kalli pats her tired nag, reassuring her that she won't be required to participate.

Maddy leand down and pats her horse on the neck. ' Not myself I would just escape on my beloved Nabir as often as I could to fly as fast the wind.'

Aira says 'Did you know dressage is to control a warhorse's movement during battle?'

Aira moves her hand slightly, the reins brushing against the horse's neck, pushing it sideways in place.

Maddy shakes her head at you.

Aira drops the reins and the horse stops.

Maddy says 'I was going to look it up in the library later.'

Maddy says 'I thought it was something to do with showing a horse.'

Aira says 'It can be used for that, yes.'

Giuseppe has arrived from the west, riding a warhorse.

Giuseppe blinks his eyes innocently.

Giuseppe says 'Oh'

Giuseppe says 'I must... ummm'

Ashlynn looks at Giuseppe.

Giuseppe says 'have come to the wrong square. '

Ashlynn nods at Giuseppe.

Ashlynn says 'You better keep moving, Giuseppe!'

Ashlynn nudges Giuseppe suggestively with her elbow.

Giuseppe says 'Excuse me lady Sedais and Accepted.'

Aira frowns slightly.

Aira says 'Not the most hospitable man, is he?'

Ashlynn shrugs helplessly.

Giuseppe narrates 'I can't handle all this alone, Tower Square is scary right now'

Ashlynn says 'Sometimes I wonder why they let him hang around still.'

Ashlynn chuckles politely.

Giuseppe has arrived from the south, riding a warhorse.

Giuseppe blinks his eyes innocently.

Chloro narrates 'Cowering already, and there aren't even any Greens about.. -cackle-'

Aira says 'Master Giuseppe, how nice it is to see you.'

Aira's voice is a bit too smooth.

Ashlynn looks at Giuseppe.

Maddy beams a smile at Ashlynn.

Giuseppe narrates 'Look, I don't know much bout anything, but walking into three Sedai of nobel blood, my pawpaw always told me, just don't. '

Ashlynn says 'When are you going to finish your tasks, Giuseppe?!'

Ashlynn says 'How long has it been?'

Maddy says 'Oh he has protected me quite a few times. He has his uses.'

Giuseppe says 'They are complete. '

Ashlynn says 'Good.'

Ashlynn says 'So what's the hold up?'

Chloro says 'Noble blood'

Chloro chuckles politely.

Aira says 'Like I said, men have their uses, when directed by someone competent.'

Chloro says 'What will the simple minded think next..'

Aira smiles at Maddy.

Maddy grins at Aira.

Giuseppe says 'One week for warders to review my past reports, then two weeks for voting on if I am deemed capable is what I was told. '

Maddy whispers to you, 'we will yet see if he gets Vianca pretty things'

Kalli has arrived from the south, riding a gray palfrey.

Kalli says 'Right'

Ashlynn says 'A light at the end of the tunnel. Good show.'

Kalli says 'Good to go!'

Aira tilts her head back and laughs.

Aira winks suggestively at Maddy.

Maddy smiles at Aira.

Aira says 'Perhaps once you do gain the cloak, you will come to Cairhien to celebrate? I will buy you and your friends a round.'

Ashlynn snickers softly.

Maddy beams a smile at Giuseppe.

Kalli beams a smile at Maddy.

Giuseppe says 'I once knew a girl who did some fantastic things with Kandori feathers. '

Maddy says 'I love this one and hope to keep using them in the foreseeable future.'

Kalli arches an interested eyebrow.

Maddy says 'Oh Giuseppe do tell.... or show us even.'

Giuseppe nods to himself, he must need reassurance.

Aira peers closely at Giuseppe, trying to figure him out.

Giuseppe says 'The moon is not quite right for show and tell tonight accepted. '

Maddy nods at Giuseppe.

Maddy says 'Very well.'

Kalli snickers softly.

Kalli now follows Giuseppe.

Aira says 'Methinks Giuseppe is afraid of being smacked by the Aes Sedai or engaging an Accepted in that sort of conversation.'

Kalli says 'Which in and of itself shows how much he has learned'

Maddy says 'Could be Lady Aira.'

Maddy nods in agreement.

Aira says 'He must've had competent teachers.'

Aira grins evilly.

Kalli says 'Apprenticeship at work!'

Giuseppe says 'I have no comment on that statement. '

Ashlynn says 'Hold on a second...'

Giuseppe says 'Chloro Sedai remembered a meeting she had and will be sending a replacement. '

Maddy nods in agreement.

Kalli hums a marching tune.

Maddy now follows Giuseppe.
