Can buy or sell but only if other players sell...

So don’t think you’ll find a jcuff, egown or onyx shield there - last jcuff I got sold for like 40k copper which is 2k gold and had several offers

Yeah that stuff kinda cray cray - I mean it is possible to rack up that kind of cash for those good at farming but ugh.

Its probably worth saying on here officially that I have a dbelt for trade

Or some people just abuse bugs to farm gold and profit in these scenarios. How on earth can you possibly get 200-300k gold without abusing bugs?

Most people legit farming would stop at a few rents full of packs filled with gold but that is some next level stuff. I guess they find a loophole and feel like they need to farm a life time of gold before it disappears. I know once I max out a bank (not even a rent) I just move some of that gold to another character but do you really think someone has 100 characters to store that much gold?

That would be a massive red flag for me if I was the staff administrating the auction.

WoTMUD needs to get some counter terrorism and anti-money laundering regulations in place to stop this kind of dark net activity. We need to start collecting people's ID at inns and tracking how much gold is in those rent storage packs. Limiting physical transactions to 10000 copper pennies and implementing mandatory reporting for those above this threshold by our banks.

Just look at what people are buying with this money. If you can buy a homeland you can buy anything.

Doubt you'll be able to come up with something. Best example is the auctions that Elysia did, the first auction a heron long went for 15? or maybe 25k gold, the next auction someone bought it for twice that much. On the forum auction those homeland change chits and reroll chits ended up going for 200-300k gold. I personally would never buy a bone club for 250-350 gc, since I hardly ever have gold enough for more than a reset or a level two ward on any given character and they generally load on easy to hit smobs. It is all relative to the player as Vilac pointed out, some people find it easy to farm gold and others easy to farm equipment, either through smobbing or pk.

Value is based on what it is worth to the individual.... db does not equal x value for example.

Value should be based on something. In my example you are using a value based on stats of the item, plus multiplers. As the stats change the value of the item changes. Easy to tell someone I want the calculated amount plus a bonus for it.

Octavio wrote:I mentioned in game yesterday we should come up with a value for one item that we agree on. Then use the stats of that item as a comparision for pricing against other items. Finally add in a multiplier for rare and unique items to come up with a basis for pricing. Note I said pricing, not worth. Worth is the haggle part of the negotiation :p
Problem is value isn't static for any item.
