You can deposit extra issued weapons in your rent but you can't return them for quest points.

Lost the log but when I gave them back a fencing blade they nodded and said something and left... never to return (so far anyways)

I did it so I didn't happen to break the issuing more than one at a time rule, but I broke them? Intended? What are we supposed to do if we want to change to a different R8 weapon?
