Not familiar with that room (or im blanking on where it is if i am) - but is that one of the partial nochannels that's just no fire or no air?

Zone: Desolate Valley in the Spine (one west of Huge Scorpion smob.)
I was able to channel in this room.
In an Echoing Cavern
The tunnel here expands into an enormous cavern, paces wide and high. To
the east, a large cone of obsidian rises to the top of the cavern like a
huge stalagmite. The obsidian is unmarred, and seems perfectly crafted, a
relic from the Age of Legends perhaps. Back to the south lies the tunnel
under the mountains of the Spine of the World.
[ obvious exits: E S ]
A remnant of the Age of Legends juts from the soil.
