She often wears colours and styles reminiscent of coastal sea town life in light blues, greens, and yellows.

Early Life in Mayene
Kaelyn Eylsar was born in the warm, sea-washed city-state of Mayene, where the rhythm of life is guided by tides, trade, and quiet influence rather than force. The night before her birth, her mother dreamed of a young child, arms outstretched, bathed in a soft glowing light. The dream stayed with her—vivid, unmistakable—and she believed it was a sign that her child might one day channel. When Kaelyn’s mother was young, there had been a girl slightly older than her in her sister’s class—untrained, unknowing, and later dead in what was said to be a tragic accident. Only years later did Kaelyn’s mother understand the truth: the girl had been able to channel and had never received guidance. Remembering that loss, she watched Kaelyn carefully. She never spoke of the dream to anyone, though quietly prepared for the possibility that she might someday loose her daughter to the that far away legendary Tower.

While he had a few trades, Kaelyn's father mainly was a shipbuilder, skilled in shaping hulls meant to survive the wild seas, sometimes working alongside his brothers during the oilfish seasons. Her mother was a trained jewel smith, renowned for her fine metal inlay work. Rather than mass-produce her craft, she chose to make only a few pieces every few months, selling them selectively. Those fortunate enough to purchase them prized them highly. Kaelyn and her older sister, Eisha, were brought up learning both of their parents crafts.

The Sea, the Wood, and the Work of Hands
From her earliest memories, Kaelyn loved the sea and the warm kiss of the sun. She swam at every opportunity, learning the patterns of tides and marine life, and found deep calm floating beneath open skies. She loved her life! She was fascinated by the Atha’an Miere, eagerly listening to sailors’ tales and learning Sea Folk songs whenever she could. Life was music and water, wood, oil and glittering things, and she wanted nothing more.

From the time she could barely walk, her father often brought his daughters to the boatyards. She loved the scent of fresh-cut wood and the smell of wood being worked. When she was 8, she was given her first carving knife for a name day present.
By the age of 10, Kaelyn regularly accompanied her father to the lumber yards. There, she would run her hands along beams and planks and tell her father which pieces he should buy, and which to avoid. She seemed to have a knack for which felt right—straight, strong, free of hidden flaws—and which should be cast off for lesser projects. At first, he humoured her suggestions, seeing that her choices seemed sound. Over time, a pattern emerged: she was always right. Wood she chose held true; wood she advised against warped or cracked. What began as an indulgence became a reliable compass, and her father's reputation as a builder thrived.

Her own woodcraft talents improved, carving small wooden items from offcuts—charms, tools, decorative pieces, which she'd inlay with delicate simple patterns and motifs in silver or bronze. By the time she was 15 she has a small side business of her own. Several times a year, the family tested newly built boats, taking them out to catch oil fish. They dried some of the fish themselves, but it was Kaelyn’s aunt who turned the oil into a delectable and prized local secret. With Kaelyn and her sister as helpers, she infused oils with incredible flavours, creating intoxicating mixtures that elevated any dish. Whenever Kaelyn helped select and prepare the flavorings, such as mushroom and sage, rosemary and garlic, or her favourite, buttery citrus, the oils sold out almost as fast as they could bottle their small batches, and they did not sell cheap! Despite themselves, word spread, and the family’s name quietly gained respect among traders.

The Awakening
While her mother tried to deny the uncanny gifts with wood, oil and metals, as Kaelyn grew older it was becoming more difficult to deny. When the debilitating nausea began (which always seemed to coincide with frightful storms), her mother felt she had to face the salty truth blowing in the wind. Her uncle called in a favour from a trading partner, they found a Windfinder willing to confirm what Kaelyn’s mother knew in her heart to be true: Kaelyn had the gift—curse, she had the spark. While the Windfinder could show her just enough to stop the nausea and storms, the Atha’an Miere could not teach her further, she was not of their People. She was still a danger to herself and her family, she needed the proper teaching only those who called Tar Valon home would give. If they loved their daughter, they would send her North, to the Aes Sedai. Remembering the girl from her youth who had died, Kaelyn’s parents did what had to be done.

Leaving the sea behind was the hardest part. But Kaelyn understood that if she had been granted the ability to move the wind and touch the unseen world, she owed it to the Light—and to those who had never been given the chance—to learn fully. What must be endured is best embraced! At least it was an island, hugged by life giving veins of water, and of course music and stories could go everywhere! Besides, she was a Mayener. She would adapt and survive, and find a way to make use of this.. this light cursed power that was stealing everything from her! Pragmatists raised in elegance.. isn't that how her people were described? Well! She would attend this tower, and she would learn, and then nothing would ever control her life in this way again, light help her!!!
