Summary: Part four of Amilesa's Whitebook series, this time with a fellow Accepted! Amilesa asks Karens the normal questions, but a comfortable rapport quickly formed. Although the two Accepted are very different, Amilesa left the meeting thinking that their paths would cross again soon. She hoped so, at least.

In the Classroom
A board of black slate hangs on the wall near the door, suggesting this
room is used as a classroom. The room is plain and windowless and has
enough place to seat thirty students. A dais with a desk sits at the front
of the room, where the Aes Sedai or Accepted teaching the class can sit.

The door is opened from the other side.

Karens has arrived from the west.

Karens closes the door.

Karens hugs Amilesa.

Amilesa looks up and smiles happily.

Amilesa hugs Karens.

Karens says 'Murandian wine, or light white wine?'

Amilesa says 'I actually brought tea, instead.'

Karens looks at the time.

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa gestures with her hand to one of the plain student's desk with refreshments.

Karens says 'To each their own!'

Karens grins evilly.

Karens places the light white wine on the desk.

Karens takes a seat next to you.

Karens says 'Love this classroom.'

Karens beams a smile at a novice.

Amilesa says 'Thank you for meeting with me, I really look forward to getting to know you more.'

Karens says 'Thank you for reaching out, I am often busy with running around I tend to forget to sit down and chat.'

Karens says 'It's good to have a change of pace.'

Karens smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'And here I thought the room lacked some of the comforts that a getting-to-know-you chat should have.'

Karens sips from the goblet.

Karens sips some more from her goblet with mulled wine.

Amilesa says 'I see in the Library that you already have a biography published, so I will try not to duplicate that. My questions tend to be more White Tower focused anyway.'

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa glances down at her notes briefly, adjusting them slightly with her hands.

Karens says 'I'm looking forward to it, is there a research for an Ajah behind this?'

Amilesa tilts her head, a sparkle in her eye.

Karens says 'I see the records have my family name wrong. That's a name I left behind long ago - I'll correct it.'

Amilesa says 'I would call it a personal project of mine, but not an assignment. But there are lessons in everything we do.'

Amilesa says 'as such, there are multiple uses to what I am doing.'

Amilesa holds up a single finger.

Karens says 'That's a very Aes Sedai thing to say'

Karens grins at you.

Amilesa says 'One, I am getting to know my fellow initiates.'

Amilesa brings another finger up for each point.

Amilesa says 'Two, I am getting to know your path in the Tower so I can help shape my own with other's learned experiences.'

Karens nods in agreement.

Karens sips from the goblet.

Amilesa says 'Three, with so many women in the Halls, I think it interesting to have a snapshot for posterity's sake.'

Karens says 'Very well, effective use of your time and the knowledge of others.'

Karens says 'Ah, a selfie if you will.'

Karens says 'Of the Tower as a whole.'

Amilesa closes her hand, removing the fingers from view.

Amilesa says 'I think so. I've asked a few Aes Sedai these questions, and they bring up names with quite favor who I know nothing of since they have not walked the Halls since I have been here.'

Karens grins evilly.

Karens nods in agreement.

Karens says 'There's a lot of knowledge in the collective minds here.'

Karens says 'Dating back much further than the library at Caemlyn'

Amilesa says 'I do think the Tower Biographies does wonders to alleviate the issue, but I also get quite a bit out of it. It is an excuse for us to talk and get to know one another.'

Karens smiles at you.

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'I'll get some of the basics out of the way first, before the questions.'

Karens is all ears.

Karens smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'I will be publishing my notes (on the Tower RP forum), so let me know if something should be public.'

Karens says 'I believe I have nothing that can not be public'

Amilesa says 'If a question is confusing to you, answer it to the way that makes the most sense to you. The story I get from you is more important than a direct interpretation of the question.'

Amilesa rubs her hands against one another.

Karens finishes her goblet with one final gulp.

Amilesa says 'And with that, the house-keeping has been done. Any questions before the first question?'

Karens drinks mulled wine from a goblet of Murandian wine.

Karens says 'None, I am as ready as can be!'

Amilesa glances down at her notebook laying open on the table.

Amilesa says 'The first one is easy. From your biography you mention being from Andor. Is there anywhere specific? Was it an Estate in the country-side, or a House manor in Caemlyn?'

Amilesa picks up a quill that was resting on a well.

Karens says 'At first I grew up in one of the estates west of Caemlyn, more towards Whitebridge.'

Karens says 'At my 10th we moved to our main Manor inside Caemlyn'

Karens says 'So I could have a "proper" education.'

Amilesa carefully shakes off the excess ink from the quill and begins writing.

Karens says 'And get to know the politics in Caemlyn better.'

Karens says 'That's what they tell me at least'

Karens says 'I now suspect there was more at play, but I do not know what.'

Karens shrugs helplessly.

Karens says 'Ancient history. I remember Caemlyn best.'

Amilesa says 'Do you remember anything particular from that time? A tutor of note, or an experience that comes to mind?'

Karens says 'I had fun in the countryside, but there were not many people to play with.'

Karens says 'Caemlyn had a lot more people I was allowed to play with'

Karens says 'So in that regard it was better. And I had quite a few tutors, I liked learning to defend myself best.'

Karens grins evilly.

Amilesa shares Karens' grin with her.

Amilesa says 'What about your family? What can you tell me about them?'

Karens says 'No big experiences, but the training grounds were where I often ran off to.'

Karens says 'I barely saw my father, still don't see him much. My mom is nice though.'

Karens says 'But growing old a bit.'

You tell Karens 'Let me know when you are done with a question, and I can move to the next.'

Karens says 'I think she had a nice life, even though I suspect she wanted more kids.'

Karens says 'I also wouldn't have minded some more playmates.'

Karens nods in agreement.

Karens says 'But it is what it is, is it not?'

Amilesa says 'Were you an only child, then?'

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'I've read some histories of nations. That must have been problematic for a Noble House's only female child to go to the White Tower, in terms of perpetuity.'

Karens says 'It is maybe the reason I've never been close to my dad.'

Karens says 'I do believe he would rather have had a son, or more of them.'

Amilesa nods silently.

Karens says 'But my mom does not mind, and my dad has two brothers.'

Karens says 'His brothers have some sons, who I barely see as well'

Karens says 'So they can probably sort it out.'

Karens says 'I just want to do what I can for the White Tower, and everyone we share the lands with.'

Amilesa says 'How did you get from there, your time around the Caemlyn court, to the White Tower? How were you found, and do you remember who brought you to Sheriam Sedai to be inducted into the Novice Book?'

Karens smiles at you.

Karens says 'Hah, yeah, I always thought I was different - but who does not I guess?'

Amilesa shrugs non-commitally.

Karens says 'There have always been Aes Sedai in and out of the Caemlyn inner city, where I often was.'

Amilesa nods along.

Karens says 'I believe it was a Brown Sister'

Karens says 'Callesa Sedai, if I remember correctly.'

Karens says 'We got to talking in the library in Caemlyn'

Amilesa smiles briefly as she marks the name in her notes.

Karens says 'After some talks with my mom, I went to Tar Valon with her.'

Karens says 'The first years as Novice were rough, as I could only see my mom when she'd be able to visit.'

Karens says 'Now it's easier, we can just travel when we need to.'

Karens smiles at you.

Karens says 'I am very happy to have joined the Tower. It feels like coming home.'

Amilesa says 'I bet that became more difficult since we must set aside our past lives for the one in the Tower.'

Karens says 'More than the countryside or Caemlyn ever felt.'

Karens says 'Only thing I miss is living in the same palace as my mom.'

Karens chuckles politely.

Karens says 'But that's also something everyone experiences.'

Karens says 'See, we're not that odd.'

Karens winks suggestively at you.

Amilesa raises her eyebrows in mock question.

Karens says 'Everyone should leave the nest at some point.'

Karens says 'We just leave a bit earlier than most, in general'

Karens says 'And often go further away... though Caemlyn is relatively close to Tar Valon'

Amilesa says 'About when did you join the Tower (rl years work well).'

Karens says 'That would be somewhere end of 2021'

Amilesa smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'Since then, who in the Tower have you been close to?'

Karens says 'I've spent a lot of time with the Reds'

Karens says 'And some with Relena Sedai, who is now missing in action'

Amilesa bites her lip while scribbling notes in her book.

Karens says 'For some reason I did not see many fellow novices and accepted'

Karens says 'Except for the gold-haired novice.'

Karens chuckles politely.

Karens says 'She seems to be everywhere!'

Amilesa says 'And the Accepted that yells after my about....water?'

Karens says 'I've had some interesting talks with Alison Sedai, but have not seen her in a while.'

Karens says 'Haha, also that one yes!'

Karens grins evilly.

Karens says 'I'm not interested in her pranks at the moment.'

Karens chuckles politely.

Amilesa says 'I am trying to set up a meeting with Alison Sedai. I'm hoping to Apprentice with the White Ajah.'

Karens says 'Never was a big prankster.'

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'You said you were Apprenticed to the Red Ajah. Had you considered any other Ajah?'

Karens says 'I have considered it, as we learn about all the Ajah in our studies.'

Karens says 'My talents for Healing leave a bit to be desired, as does my patience for research.'

Amilesa smiles slightly.

Karens says 'The fight for justice when it comes to the One Power and keeping the peace seems to work out good for me.'

Karens says 'While I also admire the work of the Greens, I rather focus inwards and towards the abuse of the One Power.'

Amilesa nods slowly.

Karens says 'All Aes Sedai do important work, it's just where I think I fit best.'

Karens smiles happily.

Amilesa moves her pen further down the page and starts a new section.

Amilesa says 'That is one of the important jobs of an Accepted, to figure that out.'

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'Who is your official mentor in your Apprenticeship? Do you have any informal mentors, in or out of that Ajah?'

Karens says 'Morella Sedai is my offical Mentor, I have also learned a lot from Sarinda Sedai.'

Karens says 'I have spoken briefly with Aloisa Sedai and Fleur Sedai, though I have not seen either in years sadly.'

Amilesa says 'I am sorry to hear that.'

Karens says 'I am sure they are well, perhaps on an important mission.'

Amilesa says 'My next question is...'

Amilesa says 'Do you have any particular saying or gesture (emote) that you often use or like?'

Karens says 'Interesting question.'

Karens says 'I have been told I have a wicked grin sometimes.'

Karens says 'I am working on making it less wicked.'

Karens grins at you.

Karens says 'Does that look wicked to you?'

Amilesa bites her lip in thought.

Amilesa says 'You seem to be improving, but it could use some more work.'

Karens nods in agreement.

Amilesa says 'I think it is the teeth.'

Karens does her best to make it a smile from eye to eye.

Amilesa says 'Are they...pointed?'

Karens looks around slowly, as if something is hidden in the room.

Karens says 'I do not have pointed teeth, thank you.'

Karens shows you her perfectly normal teeth. Normal they are, yes!

Amilesa says 'Of course, it must have been the lighting in the classroom.'

Amilesa coughs.

Karens makes some extra light balls and hangs them in the corners.

Karens says 'Against any fades.'

Amilesa says 'How do you typically spend your time, and what do you enjoy doing?'

Karens nods to herself, she must need reassurance.

Karens says 'I like to keep my fighting skills sharp.'

Karens says 'So I am often culling wildlife, or chasing off bandits.'

Amilesa looks up at the use of the word Sharp.

Karens says 'Or checking if the borderlands are safe.'

Karens says 'There have been some raids by Dreadlords lately.'

Karens says 'That's also a nice challenge.'

Amilesa nods.

Karens says 'Sharp skills, no sharp teeth at all. Friendly.'

Amilesa says 'Yes, of course.'

Karens sits down even more relaxed.

Amilesa grins wickedly.

Karens opens up her position.

Karens is totally calm.

Amilesa says 'Do you have any goals you are working towards or current projects?'

Karens says 'There's a matter the Brown Ajah needs my help with.'

Karens says 'I have not finished it yet.'

Karens says 'Two matters, actually'

Karens says 'One has to do with a treasure of sorts - I think - hidden by the bandit Ragnor'

Karens says 'The other I have to look up in my records.'

Amilesa says 'Yes, there doesn't seem to be a lack of assignments.'

Karens chuckles politely.

Karens nods in agreement.

Karens says 'Yes, I was about to list a few more'

Karens says 'But, in short'

Karens says 'There's always more work to be done.'

Karens chuckles politely.

Amilesa chuckles alongside Karens.

Amilesa says 'Are there any other Tower experience or stories that come to mind that you would like to share?'

Karens says 'I have had a very public experience a while back, but I rather not recollect that today.'

Karens says 'I am sure if you check the library on Baerlon you shall know what it is.'

Amilesa frowns slightly.

Karens says 'It was a learning experience at least.'

Amilesa says 'What did you learn from it?'

Karens says 'But I'm moving past that, and towards the future.'

Amilesa Sorry for the..pointed...question.

Karens says 'To listen to my own judgment.'

Karens says 'And never forget why we are, or becoming, Aes Sedai.'

Karens smiles happily.

Karens says 'Servants of All'

Amilesa nods firmly.

Amilesa says 'What else would you like to tell me about yourself that hasn't been covered yet?'

Karens chuckles politely.

Karens says 'We should work to keep the White Tower united.'

Karens says 'Without unity, we can't help others.'

Karens says 'That's maybe more what I learned'

Karens says 'But if we're there yet, I don't know.'

Amilesa holds her pen in the air.

Karens says 'For now, I should focus on my own part though.'

Karens says 'That's for later.'

Karens says 'About me? I don't know.'

Karens says 'I like wine, but maybe don't put that in the official records?'

Karens hiccups.

Amilesa says 'I agree that is a worthy goal. Though I am very action-detailed, which it sounds like you are, too. What actions can one do to keep the White Tower united?'

Amilesa crosses out quite a few lines in her notes.

Karens grins at you.

Karens says 'Keep the dialog open, work together more.'

Karens says 'Let's keep the connections we build as Accepted'

Karens says 'Once we achieve that Shawl'

Karens hugs Amilesa.

Amilesa hugs Karens back.

Karens says 'Was very nice talking with you, meeting you.'

Amilesa says 'It was very nice. Thank you for teething the time to talk to me today.'

Karens says 'Perhaps next time, we shall do a short spar'

Karens says 'So you can SINK YOUR TEETH in my staff.'

Karens says 'I mean'

Karens says 'We can teach each other the subtle art of fighting.'

Amilesa says 'That sounds like a plan.'

Karens smiles happily.

Amilesa says 'But I want to be mindful of your time and commitments, so we can call this interview complete.'
