Maddy removes her pack and sits cross legged on the ground as she pulls a mortar and pestle out and begins to add some kaf , almond oil, beeswax and butter.
Vala says 'Are you sure? He's very dirty.'
Maddy pulls a brush from her bag and gives it to Vala as she grabs the pestle and begins mixing her concoction.
Vala examines the small brush then the contents of the mortar.
Maddy sniffs the bowl and scrunches her face. ' I would make this smell nice if it was for you or I, but it's for the Gaidin.'
Maddy adds a bit more butter and kaf to the bowl and completes the mix, showing it to Vala to begin her artistry.
Vala says 'Ah!'
Maddy says 'Ok let me do the other colors while you work on him.'
Maddy pulls another bowl out as she washes the pestle off in the fountain.
Vala puts the brush in the bowl and dabs a little on Draz's cheek.
Vala puts a little color on the other cheek.
Maddy adds some more beeswax, butter, oil and some berries, 'This can be for the lips and cheeks.'
Draz disappears into the void.
Draz has returned.
Maddy brushes her hair from her face, looks at Vala motioning for her to shhh.
Vala says 'Oh I thought this one was..'
Maddy says, ‘ Ok he went back to sleep, let's continue.’
Jaxon has arrived from the south.
Jaxon gasps in astonishment.
Vala peers closely at Draz, trying to figure him out.
Jaxon looks at Draz.

Jaxon looks at Maddy.

Maddy adds some more berries to the mix to make the colors more vibrant and crushes them vigorously with the pestle until finally satisfied, sets it on the ground.
Jaxon howls triumphantly.
Jaxon stops following Vala.

Maddy says 'Start before he wakes'
Vala gives the brush back to Maddy.
Vala says 'Here, let's see what you have in mind.'
Maddy grabs a final bowl from the bag, rolls her eyes at Vala.. ok I will do it. you mix this.
Vala nods in agreement.
Vala sits down.
Maddy gives the bowl beeswax, oil and butter to Vala.
Vala begins to mix the ingredients.
Maddy pulls out a handful of goatflower from her pack, handing that over, 'Make the mixture somewhat thin so it can be easily applied.'
Vala nods in agreement.
Vala adds the goatflower and a little more oil to the bowl.
Vala continues mixing the contents of the mortar.
Draz disappears into the void.
Draz has returned.
Maddy raises a finger to Vala, shhhh.
Vala lifts the pestle, watching the mixture drip from it.
Vala says 'This seems good'
Vala gives the bowl to Maddy.
Maddy grabs the brush, tapping her chin, examines Draz carefully, before writing with the dark Kaf mixture on Draz' forehead, ‘I like trollems and I will remember to not fall asleep in the practice yard again.’
Vala snickers softly.
Maddy leaning back to examine her work, she tsks, saying …’ More kaf , then adds dramatic circles around his eyes with the dark mixture.’
Vala stifles a laugh, trying to be quiet.
Maddy putting the kaf down she asks Vala, ' How is the blue mixture coming along, I think I will fill in the dark around his eyes with that.'
Vala says 'It's ready, here.'
Vala grabs a nearby bowl and hands it to Maddy.
Maddy washes the brush off in the fountain and dips it in the blue mixture, carefully staying within the dark circles on Draz face.
Maddy stands and takes a step back and says, ‘Hmm, what next....?'
Vala considers Maddy's work for a minute.
Vala says 'Oh you said something for the lips too.'
Maddy OH I know, takes the blue brush and paints each of Draz dirty nails with the mixture, ' Oh that looks quite good, I may try some myself.’
Draz disappears into the void.
Draz has returned.
Vala smiles happily.
Maddy raises a finger to Vala, shhhh.
Vala nods at Maddy.
Maddy washes the brush off then dips it in the red mixture, taking care to gently outline Draz' lips before adding some to his cheeks.
Maddy says 'Hmmm'
Maddy stands back to admire her handywork, asking Vala' Does it need anything else?'
Vala looks at Draz.
Vala says 'No, that seems pretty good.'
Vala snickers softly.
Vala says 'Maybe we should've made it smell nice though.'
Vala wrinkles her nose.
Vala says 'Oh that's him, nevermind.'
Maddy Looks at Coulin and curtseys,’Thank you for your patience and allowing us to do this for Lord Draz, he is working much too hard if he is falling asleep here. We needed to remind him to take his rest.’
Maddy pulls a mirror out of her pack and hands it to Lord Draz.
Vala clambers to her feet.
Vala curtseys gracefully.
Vala thanks Coulin the Master of Arms heartily.
Maddy says 'Vala Can you please write him a note to look in the mirror before he leaves the yard when he wakes up.'
Vala nods in agreement.
Vala takes out a small writing case and a sheet of paper.
Maddy picks up all the bowls and brushes, washing them squeaky clean, adds them to her bag.'
Vala jots a quick note and stuffs it in Draz's pocket.
Draz disappears into the void.
Draz has returned.
Maddy says 'SHHHHH'
Vala gasps in astonishment.
Vala nods at Maddy.
Maddy tiptoes past the fountain quietly so as not to wake the sleeping Gaidin.
