The Heart Wants What it Wants

by Chloro » Wed Aug 16, 2023 12:39 pm

After long years of study Accepted Erie and Chloro Sedai have a little chat over a much needed but difficult decision. The outome, though suprising grows the tower in an unexpected way.

Pov:Chloro
Participants: Chloro, Erie

Meeting Room of the Gray Ajah
Large, leaded glass windows surround the room on all sides, save the
southern where a large doorway leads out into a antechamber. The room
itself is dominated by a large wooden table around which sits at least
fifty matching chairs, something close to a record for the White Tower. In
the middle of the table are an assortment of unused parchments, quill pens
and stoppered ink jars. A small stand off to one side of the room holds a
large number of glass cups and a large pitcher of chilled water. An
inscription in fine lettering is etched upon the windows.

Zone: White Tower Upper Floors
Door east: door
A large round table built from black oak dominates the center of the room.
A silver-haired Aes Sedai sits here, reading.
A Gray Sister walks here, considering her options.
Annoura Larisen is here, weighing your words.

Someone knocks on the carveddoor from the other side.

The carveddoor is opened from the other side.

Erie has arrived from the east.

Erie curtseys before you.

Chloro smiles warmly.

Erie says 'Good afternoon Chloro Sedai, I am here as requested.'

Erie smiles happily.

Chloro says 'Do come in child.'

Erie steps into the room.

Chloro gracefully glides to the large round table in the center of the room perching in her high-backed chair motioning for the girl to find a seat.

Chloro says 'I believe your name is Erie, is that correct child?'

Erie takes a seat.

Erie says 'Yes, Chloro Sedai'

Chloro nods pulling a white leather-bound folder from a stack on the table and opening it. "Ah good, I see here that you were very proficient with tasks for my sisters. It was noted that you were leaning towards the Yellow Ajah for study. Is that still the case?

Erie smiles slightly as she says "Thank you for your kind words, Aes Sedai. I have had a lot of time to think while tucked away in my rooms during studies, I had a difficult time determining which Ajah would work best for me, and I am afraid that is still the case."

Chloro lets out a small dramatic sigh but smiles slightly. "Though the other Ajahs will miss you as a candidate, any woman who gains the shawl is a sister to us all. Have you been in contact with the Yellow Ajah?"

Erie says 'No Chloro Sedai. My studies have given me little time to interact anybody as of late. Unfortunately, i don't believe ive seen any members of the Yellow Ajah in weeks.'

Erie says 'I spoke with Tolza Sedai and mentioned I may be interested in Green and Blue mostly now, but it is difficult to find an Aes Sedai of that Ajah that isn’t already preoccupied. I am afraid I may have made a mistake in mentioning I would accept a Brown Apprenticeship because there are so many Browns around recently. If I am being honest with myself though, I do not think my heart would be in the Brown Ajah.'

Chloro nods and waves to the pigeon cage kept by the window. "With the shadow stirring of late, many have been called out of the tower. However, if you were to send them a missive (forum mail) one of their members will respond. I would encourage you to notate your class schedule (playtimes) for best success."

A Gray Sister has arrived from the east.

Erie scribbles a note while nodding her head "Very well, thank you for the advice. I will get on this as soon as I return to my room."

Chloro smiles sympathetically. "Do not let your eyes fool you child. This is the Island of Tar Valon, and the White Tower itself. I can assure you a sister of every Ajah is in residence. You need only ask in order to receive lessons. Now is it true you still wish to learn from the Yellow? Or does your heart have another Ajah in mind? Speak truthfully.

Erie nods her head slowly and looks down shamefully. "Truthfully, Chloro Sedai, I do not seek the Yellow Ajah as a home. I want to be on the front lines against the shadow. In my heart I wish to be a Green."

Erie says 'I apologize for being so .. hesitant to choose, I feel like it is such a big decision and I do not want to upset any of the Aes Sedai who have helped me.'

Chloro looks to the Accepted with a motherly warm smile, "Child do not ever be ashamed of your aspirations in life. The decision for myself changed three times before I settled on Gray. Our life is hard, and being shawled is harder still, they call it a burden for a reason. What burden do you wish to take up? Do you wish to take up the burden of battle?"

Erie looks back up, meeting your eyes. Appearing more confident in her answer now. "Yes, Chloro Sedai. I believe that Battle is the burden I wish to take upon myself."

Chloro's eyes sparkle watching the girl come into her own. "Then I would seek out Green sisters. To my Knowledge Mer Sedai, Lisette Sedai, Aish Sedai, Asandra Sedai are in Residence. It would not be amiss to speak with Evangaline Sedai, their senior sitter of the hall."

Chloro says 'However, You may go aid Caemlyn, if you seek to prove yourself to my Green sisters, the battle will not end..'

Erie smiles excitedly. " Thank you, Chloro Sedai!"

Chloro says 'Off with you child.'

Erie smiles happily.

Erie curtseys gracefully.

Erie says 'Thank you again Chloro Sedai.'

Erie leaves east.
