Ashlynn tells you 'Have you found your way among the ajah wings?'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'I have, Aes Sedai. I know my way around quite well, but now I've been trying to pay more attention. Just last night I learned I could look at each Amrlyn's portrait seperatly from the list of Amylrins at the entrance to each Ajah Wing.'
Ashlynn tells you 'Fascinating, isn't it? All that history, whether recorded in books or portrait, just on display and ready to read here'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'And that there is a memorial for Adaire Sedai in the garden north of Jimar. Two layers of looking, but it is exciting to find something I hadn't seen before.'
Ashlynn tells you 'Would you say you have a knack for finding hidden things?'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'I have an interest in finding things, though maybe no greater aptitude than others, I just try to spend the time to look.'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'I just wish I knew more of the hidden things that are likely within reach, but I don't know what to look for yet.'
Ashlynn tells you 'I am not the best at finding hidden things, but I would suggest seeking out Gesin Sedai at your earliest convenience, to talk to her about it. She is always looking to learn about hidden and secret things, and trying to learn about new things'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'Thank you for the advice, Aes Sedai. I will have to seek her out.'
Ashlynn tells you 'I think that when you find yourself through the arches, you will be able to satisfy that urge to find more hidden and tucked away things out in the world'
Ashlynn tells you 'There is so much to find out there... A statue here, a little hidden cave there... Portraits and paintings that no one looks at. It really is amazing.'
Ashlynn tells you 'Learning how to use the search skill effectively is important for finding hidden areas. Have you learned much about how to search?'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'I have a poor amount of search at the moment.'
Amilesa tells Ashlynn 'So that means there will likely be evern some places on the Island I may not be able to go.'

This side of the square is the southern section of the Tower Square.
In the center is the walled off White Tower. To the south a large
boulevard opens up leading to the Southharbor. To the north you see

Ashlynn grins at Amilesa.
Amilesa says 'Chloro Sedai and Morella Sedai have mentioned some areas I need to improve in before I am ready to be Accepted.'
Ashlynn nods solemnly at Amilesa.
Ashlynn says 'I was reading about that, yes...'
Amilesa smiles as she begins 'But, for the task at hand, this is a great place to start in terms of what we can find around the White Tower.'
Ashlynn says 'It is a lot to process, what you're going through. You were just a farm girl working in a tavern in Emond's Field. This is the big city. You have so much more to do, more you are responsible for even. It is something you will come to terms with, over time.'
Amilesa motions an arm in the direction of the fountain.
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa says 'Yes, Aes Sedai. Through the instruction of those other Aes Sedai I am learning why we do things here, instead of just the what.'

Standing centered in this fountain is a sculpture of a tall, slender woman.
Her eyes seem to flash with a mischievous fire, and they invite you to rest
at the base of the fountain. Her arms are outstretched in welcome, and at
her feet lies a simple inscription:

Ashlynn says 'I think it is important to take time to stop and look at our surroundings. With everything going on, it is easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle.'

Amilesa says 'Exactly, Aes Sedai. That tour motivated me to give the Tower a little deeper of a look. And Ashlynn Sedai wanted to know what I had found so far.'
Chloro whispers something to Ashlynn.

Amilesa says 'One of them is in the Gray Ajah's Wing, as I'm sure you know, Aes Sedai.'
Chloro says 'Indeed I do.'
Amilesa says 'Ashlynn Sedai, I assume you don't want me to stop at every portrait and wall hanging, do you? But instead focus on some of the more unique finds?'
Ashlynn says 'We would likely be here for a fortnight if we stopped at every single one, so some highlights would make more sense, aye'
Chloro says 'Remember your lessons Amilesa, deep breaths and calm.'
Amilesa says 'As my tour yesterday indicated, I can be quick and efficient. We'll head deeper into the Tower now.'
Ashlynn starts leading a bloodstock stallion.

Amilesa takes a deep breath in, holding it a few seconds, and lets it back out.

Summary: Making their way 1n of Jimar's Rogue Practice, we example a meticulous garden and its symbolism.
A Bend in the Path
White benches border the path to either side and lawns of green grass
surround each bench. The White Tower rises over eighty spans in the air to
the southeast, dwarfing everything in the vicinity. Short shrubs butting up
against the sides of the Tower have been pruned to resemble miniature
trees. The white gravel path turns east and south past a bare rock garden
consisting of rocks that have been placed into the shape of a mountain. An
elegant sign stands at the edge of the rock garden.

Amilesa walks to the edge of the well-manicured rock garden

Soft and springy green moss forming smooth round tussocks surround a large
square area of finely grained white pebbles that have been raked in a
perfect wavy pattern. A small brass sign bearing a blue ribbon has been
placed along the edge of the pebbled area.
In the center, surrounded by a sea of pebbles, lies a small mountain of
gray granite boulders. At the base of the mountain, large blocks of
speckled granite support the smaller boulders and rocks above. Towering on
top of the carefully sculpted mountain is a tree: neither tall or straight,
but stunted as if it has had to struggle to stay alive. Sprouting from the
tree's limbs are a multitude of pink blossoms reaching for the sun's light.
Ashlynn kneels on the edge of the rock garden, next to Amilesa.
Amilesa says 'The garden here is easy to overlook if you are merely trying to get to the north gate.'
Amilesa says 'But the gardeners have taken great care in its grooming.'
Amilesa turns to appraise the garden fully.
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Ashlynn stands up, and straightens her gown.
Amilesa says while still facing the garden 'The garden itself is a piece of art, meant to tell a story and illicit emotion.'

Amilesa says 'If you look at the plaque at the garden, you will see a memorial for Adaire Sedai, to do what must be done. That sounds like a very Aes Sedai phrase, to ensure we do what is must to serve.'
Amilesa pauses to reflect on the garden once more, the single tree striving to flourish amongst the landscape.
Ashlynn nods at Amilesa.
Amilesa returns her focus to Ashlynn Sedai, turning her body to face her.
Ashlynn says 'What does that mean to you? To serve?'
Amilesa bites her lower lip in thought.
Amilesa says 'I have been thinking of that a lot, recently.'
Amilesa says 'To Serve means putting someone else above yourself. Using what you have in the benefit of another.'
Amilesa returns to looking at the garden.
Ashlynn says 'Or something else. Like dishes'
Ashlynn grins at Amilesa.
Amilesa says 'It is growing your roots deep into unforgiving rock so that flowers may blossom.'
Amilesa says 'Ah! What does it mean to serve in a more daily capacity?'
Amilesa says 'May I take us to the Practice Ground for a moment?'
Ashlynn nods at Amilesa.

Amilesa says 'To your point, I think some of my duties and chores are meant to teach us about service. Like washing the dishes, as you mentioned.'
Amilesa says 'But some things I satrted doing because I learned other people find them useful.'
Ashlynn nods at Amilesa.
Ashlynn says 'What is an example of one of those things?'
Amilesa says 'I get a few horse tokens from Sheriam Sedai and ensure the Tower Square have a few mares for visiters to use to get about the island, Aes Sedai.'
Amilesa says 'I also make a large batch of food and ensures plates of it end up in the barrel and the rack.'
Ashlynn nods at Amilesa.
Ashlynn says 'I've been using the oven myself. I find I spend a lot of time in our wing, and get thirsty and hungry often'
Amilesa says 'I am on hand to refresh and provide heals, of the light variety, to our visiters.'
Ashlynn says 'So I keep a big keg of water and a bunch of my favorite pork and peppers to eat while I work all day.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa makes a note of the Aes Sedai's preferences.
Amilesa says 'And I've been taking lessons and advice on how to use Locates to sense the enemy, for those travelling in the field or fighting.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa looks down at her feet.
Ashlynn says 'What have you learned about using locate weaves?'
Amilesa says 'I know they are small things, Aes Sedai, but I've been learning them as I've been talking to people. Usually in the Tower Square.'
Amilesa stops using a fine quill pen.
Ashlynn says 'Have you ever noticed that there are some places you just can't seem to sense someone or something is there?'
Amilesa taps a pen against her cheek with ink0stained hands.
Amilesa says 'Sarinda Sedai has asked me to look into those sort of no-loc locations about the island, but I am not complete with looking into it.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa says 'I know the Tower Square is one such room, from first-hand experience.'
Ashlynn nods at Amilesa.
Ashlynn says 'Most central squares are such rooms. Who knows why... Maybe the squares are the squares because of some ancient reasons beyond recorded history'
Ashlynn says 'Maybe it has something to do with the source of their fountains'
Ashlynn shrugs helplessly.
Amilesa says 'I've learned that there isn't a single thing to sense to give good enough confidence of the presence or absense of the enemy. But that there are a few you can run in succession that can raise the confidnce a little.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'Tell me more about that. What do you do?'
Amilesa says 'Perhaps the Squares are the oldest part of the cities, built by those who could use the One Power in that way.'
Ashlynn says 'perhaps'
Ashlynn thinks hard.
Amilesa says 'I started off pretty basic with daggers and rings, but after doing that for a few days, it became more apparent that those were not bad, but were lower confidnce.'
Amilesa says 'Last night I learned that potions are a good object to locate for if trying to identify if a real and present threat is within range.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'Common items are good. Packs, daggers, skins, flasks'
Ashlynn says 'Everyone needs to carry a container, a butchering implement, and something to drink out of..'
Amilesa says 'There aren't so many that the noise gets in the way, and some formidable opponents carry them.'
Ashlynn says 'However, they don't always carry the same implement or item. Trollocs can rip people's limbs off for a snack'
Ashlynn shivers uncomfortably.
Ashlynn says 'Rings are a good one, though. Potions, as you say, for credible threats.'
Amilesa says 'Flesh was also recommended to me, though I admit to using it for the various oddities it can pick up.'
Ashlynn says 'Anyone can give a dagger to a dumb trolloc and mess up the locates'
Amilesa nods at her.
Ashlynn says 'Now if you notice that it's there for several hours, and doesn't move, you can probably filter it out'
Amilesa says 'That was mentioned to me as something to look out for. It seems the more reliable technique is patience. If you run the locates over several objects and a minute or so apart, you can start building a picture.'
Ashlynn says 'It can be costly in terms of spell power, though'
Amilesa says 'Unless the fight comes to Tar Valon, that is less of an issue for me as a Novice.'

Continuing Down the Hallway
The vaulted corridor of pale white stone meets floor tiles in every shade
of blue, from a pale morning sky to the deep violet of twilight. The wavy
pattern of the tiles gives a hint of grandeur. Simple decorated gilded
stand lamps light the corridor and its wall hangings of spring gardens and

In the Red Ajah Apartment
Quite a few creature comforts collected over the years sit scattered
throughout this small apartment. A small door leading into a second room
offers a glimpse of a wide bed covered in with an enormous number of
pillows. A pillowed bench sits along one wall, its hard surfaces hidden
beneath a nearly crimson red cover. A vase of flowers sitting on a small
table dresses up the corner furthest from the fireplace, which warms the
room with its yellow glow. A small engraved plaque hangs on the wall.

A Long, Portrait-Lined Hallway
Sitting at the top of the pale stone wall, just below the curvature of the
arched ceiling is a frieze of delicately carved holly berries, blossoms and
leaves, the latter looking ready to prick anyone who touches them. Mounted
on the wall are a series of portraits of women in seven-striped stoles, all
images of Amyrlins raised from the Red Ajah. The floor is covered with
glossy white tiles marked with a red Flame of Tar Valon, contrasting
sharply with red tapestries hung on the walls.

In a Private Apartment
A large, elegantly carved desk sits in the center of the room. Large glass
filled windows frame the desk from behind, offering a grand view of the
city which surrounds the White Tower. A number of small boxes sit atop the
desk, each carved fancifully with animals and other exotic creatures. Three
sturdy, yet mismatched chairs finish out the rooms furnishings, one behind
the desk and another two sitting before it.

Deane Aryman is the longest serving Amyrlin in history, she served from FY
992 - 1084. She restored the power of the Aes Sedai after Bonwhin. She is
well known for having encouraged Ishara Casalain to found the kingdom of
Andor after Hawkwing'sdeath and she negotiated an end to the Siege of Tar
Valon with Hawkwing's General Souran Maravaile. She was on the verge of
negotiating an end to the War of the Hundred Years when she died.

A Comfortable Apartment
Large lead glass windows sit in the western wall of this moderately sized
room, flooding the room with the atmosphere from outside. A large fireplace
in the eastern wall provides ample heat to offset the cold which sometimes
seeps in from the outside. An elegantly carved desk sits centered in the
room, its top holding a number of parchments as well as a small cup holding
a number of quill pens. Two matched chairs sit before the desk ready to
accept visitors to these chambers.

Continuing Down the Hallway
Floor tiles in a multitude of gray hues cover the floor of this hallway,
alternating with white tiles marked with the Flame of Tar Valon. Each door
in the hallway has been marked with scales in gold for Sitters and silver
for other Aes Sedai. A large tapestry of a map during the time of the
Compact of the Ten Nations decorates the wall.

Meeting Room of the Gray Ajah
Large, leaded glass windows surround the room on all sides, save the
southern where a large doorway leads out into a antechamber. The room
itself is dominated by a large wooden table around which sits at least
fifty matching chairs, something close to a record for the White Tower. In
the middle of the table are an assortment of unused parchments, quill pens
and stoppered ink jars. A small stand off to one side of the room holds a
large number of glass cups and a large pitcher of chilled water. An
inscription in fine lettering is etched upon the windows.

A board of black slate hangs on the wall near the door, suggesting this
room is used as a classroom. The room is plain and windowless and has
enough place to seat thirty students. A dais with a desk sits at the front
of the room, where the Aes Sedai or Accepted teaching the class can sit.

This small, windowless room is used to house an initiate of the Tower. A
closet contains the girl's dresses, smallclothes, slippers and cloak, while
a small wash basin and pitcher has been placed in a corner of the room. A
plain, nicked chair stands against the wall and the bed has been neatly
made. A small round rug in an Illianer circular pattern adorns the ground.

The Kitchens
The smells of food fills this large, high ceilinged room, the scent of
meats mingling with those of fruits and vegetables. A long stone fireplace
with spits lies in the center of the eastern wall, the roasting spits being
turned by spit dogs running in their wicker baskets. Iron stoves and ovens
have been placed along other walls. Three large pairs of doors flank the
kitchen and a glimpse reveals they are large dining halls. Gray tiles cover
the floor and a large sink occupies a corner of the room.

Ashlynn says 'It is a lot to process, what you're going through. You were just a farm girl working in a tavern in Emond's Field. This is the big city. You have so much more to do, more you are responsible for even. It is something you will come to terms with, over time.'

Amilesa says 'Yes, Aes Sedai. Through the instruction of those other Aes Sedai I am learning why we do things here, instead of just the what.'

Ashlynn says 'We would likely be here for a fortnight if we stopped at every single one, so some highlights would make more sense, aye'
Chloro says 'Remember your lessons Amilesa, deep breaths and calm.'
Amilesa says 'As my tour yesterday indicated, I can be quick and efficient. We'll head deeper into the Tower now.'

Amilesa walks to the edge of the well-manicured rock garden

Soft and springy green moss forming smooth round tussocks surround a large
square area of finely grained white pebbles that have been raked in a
perfect wavy pattern. A small brass sign bearing a blue ribbon has been
placed along the edge of the pebbled area.
In the center, surrounded by a sea of pebbles, lies a small mountain of
gray granite boulders. At the base of the mountain, large blocks of
speckled granite support the smaller boulders and rocks above. Towering on
top of the carefully sculpted mountain is a tree: neither tall or straight,
but stunted as if it has had to struggle to stay alive. Sprouting from the
tree's limbs are a multitude of pink blossoms reaching for the sun's light.
Ashlynn kneels on the edge of the rock garden, next to Amilesa.
Amilesa says 'The garden here is easy to overlook if you are merely trying to get to the north gate.'
Amilesa says 'But the gardeners have taken great care in its grooming.'
Amilesa turns to appraise the garden fully.
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Ashlynn stands up, and straightens her gown.
Amilesa says while still facing the garden 'The garden itself is a piece of art, meant to tell a story and illicit emotion.'

Amilesa says 'I get a few horse tokens from Sheriam Sedai and ensure the Tower Square have a few mares for visiters to use to get about the island, Aes Sedai.'
Amilesa says 'I also make a large batch of food and ensures plates of it end up in the barrel and the rack.'
Ashlynn nods at Amilesa.
Ashlynn says 'I've been using the oven myself. I find I spend a lot of time in our wing, and get thirsty and hungry often'
Amilesa says 'I am on hand to refresh and provide heals, of the light variety, to our visiters.'
Ashlynn says 'So I keep a big keg of water and a bunch of my favorite pork and peppers to eat while I work all day.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa makes a note of the Aes Sedai's preferences.
Amilesa says 'And I've been taking lessons and advice on how to use Locates to sense the enemy, for those travelling in the field or fighting.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa looks down at her feet.
Ashlynn says 'What have you learned about using locate weaves?'
Amilesa says 'I know they are small things, Aes Sedai, but I've been learning them as I've been talking to people. Usually in the Tower Square.'
Amilesa stops using a fine quill pen.
Ashlynn says 'Have you ever noticed that there are some places you just can't seem to sense someone or something is there?'
Amilesa taps a pen against her cheek with ink0stained hands.
Amilesa says 'Sarinda Sedai has asked me to look into those sort of no-loc locations about the island, but I am not complete with looking into it.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Amilesa says 'I know the Tower Square is one such room, from first-hand experience.'

Ashlynn says 'Most central squares are such rooms. Who knows why... Maybe the squares are the squares because of some ancient reasons beyond recorded history'
Ashlynn says 'Maybe it has something to do with the source of their fountains'
Ashlynn shrugs helplessly.
Amilesa says 'I've learned that there isn't a single thing to sense to give good enough confidence of the presence or absense of the enemy. But that there are a few you can run in succession that can raise the confidnce a little.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'Tell me more about that. What do you do?'
Amilesa says 'Perhaps the Squares are the oldest part of the cities, built by those who could use the One Power in that way.'
Ashlynn says 'perhaps'
Ashlynn thinks hard.
Amilesa says 'I started off pretty basic with daggers and rings, but after doing that for a few days, it became more apparent that those were not bad, but were lower confidnce.'
Amilesa says 'Last night I learned that potions are a good object to locate for if trying to identify if a real and present threat is within range.'
Ashlynn nods in agreement.
Ashlynn says 'Common items are good. Packs, daggers, skins, flasks'
Ashlynn says 'Everyone needs to carry a container, a butchering implement, and something to drink out of..'
Amilesa says 'There aren't so many that the noise gets in the way, and some formidable opponents carry them.'
Ashlynn says 'However, they don't always carry the same implement or item. Trollocs can rip people's limbs off for a snack'
Ashlynn shivers uncomfortably.
Ashlynn says 'Rings are a good one, though. Potions, as you say, for credible threats.'
Amilesa says 'Flesh was also recommended to me, though I admit to using it for the various oddities it can pick up.'
Ashlynn says 'Anyone can give a dagger to a dumb trolloc and mess up the locates'
Amilesa nods at her.
Ashlynn says 'Now if you notice that it's there for several hours, and doesn't move, you can probably filter it out'
Amilesa says 'That was mentioned to me as something to look out for. It seems the more reliable technique is patience. If you run the locates over several objects and a minute or so apart, you can start building a picture.'
Ashlynn says 'It can be costly in terms of spell power, though'
Amilesa says 'Unless the fight comes to Tar Valon, that is less of an issue for me as a Novice.'

beneath a nearly crimson red cover. A vase of flowers sitting on a small
table dresses up the corner furthest from the fireplace, which warms the
room with its yellow glow. A small engraved plaque hangs on the wall.

A Long, Portrait-Lined Hallway
Sitting at the top of the pale stone wall, just below the curvature of the
arched ceiling is a frieze of delicately carved holly berries, blossoms and
leaves, the latter looking ready to prick anyone who touches them. Mounted
on the wall are a series of portraits of women in seven-striped stoles, all
images of Amyrlins raised from the Red Ajah. The floor is covered with
glossy white tiles marked with a red Flame of Tar Valon, contrasting
sharply with red tapestries hung on the walls.

In a Private Apartment
A large, elegantly carved desk sits in the center of the room. Large glass
filled windows frame the desk from behind, offering a grand view of the
city which surrounds the White Tower. A number of small boxes sit atop the
desk, each carved fancifully with animals and other exotic creatures. Three
sturdy, yet mismatched chairs finish out the rooms furnishings, one behind
the desk and another two sitting before it.

seven-striped stole hangs on the gray stone wall opposite the stairs.

Deane Aryman is the longest serving Amyrlin in history, she served from FY
992 - 1084. She restored the power of the Aes Sedai after Bonwhin. She is
well known for having encouraged Ishara Casalain to found the kingdom of
Andor after Hawkwing'sdeath and she negotiated an end to the Siege of Tar
Valon with Hawkwing's General Souran Maravaile. She was on the verge of
negotiating an end to the War of the Hundred Years when she died.

A Comfortable Apartment
Large lead glass windows sit in the western wall of this moderately sized
room, flooding the room with the atmosphere from outside. A large fireplace

seeps in from the outside. An elegantly carved desk sits centered in the
room, its top holding a number of parchments as well as a small cup holding
a number of quill pens. Two matched chairs sit before the desk ready to
accept visitors to these chambers.

Floor tiles in a multitude of gray hues cover the floor of this hallway,
alternating with white tiles marked with the Flame of Tar Valon. Each door
in the hallway has been marked with scales in gold for Sitters and silver
for other Aes Sedai. A large tapestry of a map during the time of the
Compact of the Ten Nations decorates the wall.

Meeting Room of the Gray Ajah
Large, leaded glass windows surround the room on all sides, save the
southern where a large doorway leads out into a antechamber. The room
itself is dominated by a large wooden table around which sits at least
fifty matching chairs, something close to a record for the White Tower. In
the middle of the table are an assortment of unused parchments, quill pens
and stoppered ink jars. A small stand off to one side of the room holds a
large number of glass cups and a large pitcher of chilled water. An
inscription in fine lettering is etched upon the windows.

made. A small round rug in an Illianer circular pattern adorns the ground.

Ashlynn says 'I've never really looked at that cave myself. How often can you find a chest in there?'

Amilesa says 'I do try to help out when I can, Aes Sedai. The other day Guardsman Ansil was needing a last few merits before he could advance, and he was looking for some immediate ways. So I walked him through some options until he worked on a Liaison quest I told him.'

The Kitchens
The smells of food fills this large, high ceilinged room, the scent of
meats mingling with those of fruits and vegetables. A long stone fireplace
with spits lies in the center of the eastern wall, the roasting spits being
turned by spit dogs running in their wicker baskets. Iron stoves and ovens
have been placed along other walls. Three large pairs of doors flank the
kitchen and a glimpse reveals they are large dining halls. Gray tiles cover
the floor and a large sink occupies a corner of the room.
